Looking forward to the big reveal and your thoughts. Same tires on my interceptor (although 18”) and have been happy with them. Your bike is really coming along nicely, quite inspiring, thanks for that.👌

Thank you very much, Daryl! It was hard to choose tyres, but when I closed my eyes I saw bt46 in front of them, as everyone is talking about them. I am glad to hear that you like them, means they won’t disappoint! Thanks for the compliment. Someone asked me what I was doing with my bike and why am I all over the place with the mods. But I guess that’s it - I enjoy the process and I am happy to hear that sometimes it inspires other to experiment with their own bikes! I don’t mind failures, they happen eventually, but this mod as it seems is coming along nicely!

I have wanted some black wheels since I got my bike so this may be a mod I look at. Your thoughts will be valuable for me in this regard. Next mod for me is the S&S cam, should be complete in the next couple months 👌
@thesundayrides

I am also thinking about S&S cam. Will you do ECU re mapping as well?
@darylwootton5217
@darylwootton5217 5 ай бұрын
We don’t have a Dyno in my city so there is no good way to tune the bike after the cam. I had thought about adding a new fueler but there are 2 competing brands here, FuelX & DynoJet and I’m still unsure of best approach. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of skilled techs around that know this stuff, or if they do they only understand Harley’s and have no Enfield experience or maps available Am hoping to follow directions from S&S so that everything works 🤷‍♂️
@thesundayrides
@thesundayrides 5 ай бұрын
I have Fuel X fitted. I was also recommended to remap the ecu. I think the best way to go would be to ask S&S. If you hear from them, could you please share with me too? @@darylwootton5217

Thanks, Joe! Riding low and slow to scrub the tyres a little bit and then giving them a push! Haha probably not. I am a laid back rider. I never had an issue even with the stock tyres. But of course I am excited to “taste the difference”

I’m thinking about doing something similar but with a 19” front. I’d love to do it myself, I laced a wheel back in the 1970s so it’s been a while. In the United States we have Woody’s wheels who does this service. Yes, expensive!
@thesundayrides
@thesundayrides 5 ай бұрын
Sounds interesting! I guess you will need a solution for a front mudguard as there won’t be enough clearance. My friends told me it is “easier than bicycle wheel” which is still way too hard for me! Best of luck with your project!

This is a really great video. We use the same tire size comparison site, and now your front tire is the same size is the on my Triumph Bonneville SE (110/70-17). It's so hard to make an interesting "talking-head video" that gives enough detail to share the info but not enough to bore the audience. You do a really good job. What do you think you could have sold your original wheels for if you had gotten new hubs? Would it be enough to off-set the cost of the hubs?
@thesundayrides
@thesundayrides 5 ай бұрын
Yeah, I got that idea of selling the wheels, when I completed the project. But I hope I can as well just sell the rims (and may be tyres)! Thanks for other comments too! Talking head videos are still a challenge for me but step by step it is improving:) I am glad that the first version was ruined by the auto focus issue. It was terrible!

Hi max be interesting to see what it looks like , allways thought the back dosn,t look right but cant put my finger on why , any way with smaller wheels are you altering the gearing , one tooth bigger on the front sprocket , and the speedo will be out , do a good side on shot when you do next video
@thesundayrides
@thesundayrides 5 ай бұрын
Thanks! For me the rear wheel was too slim. Visually at least. Yeah, you are correct! I have a solution already! My speedo can be calibrated. A very simple way to set precise speed measurement. Thanks for your great comment brother!

Hi Max, I am also planning to installation excel rim on my interceptor with the size of 17x3.5” front & 17x4.25” rear. This rim width sizes are perfect or I need to go with different width on same 17inch rim ? Please advise.
@thesundayrides
@thesundayrides 2 ай бұрын
Hi! Sorry, I thought I replied.. 17x3.5” front & 17x4.25” rear - I think it will work, but please check the recommended width for the tyres you've selected. This info is present at tyre manufacturer website. I'd say 3.5 front might be a bit too much, i'd stay around 3.0. 4.25 should be good. I regret that I chose 3.75. it is not wide enough for 150 tyre. Good luck!

Sounds like a cool project. I wonder if reducing the rear wheel size has the same effect as dropping a couple teeth on the rear sprocket. I’ve heard that’s how they achieve slightly different feel among the 350’s. Have you noticed any difference?
@thesundayrides
@thesundayrides 5 ай бұрын
Hey! Yes, I did! The bike feels lighter, more agile. It steers quicker. I didn’t try it on the highway yet, but I will as soon as I get a chance. Interesting experience I must say. Turns your old bike into a new, that you didn’t know yet

How difficult is it to have the exhaust horizontal instead of the way it is turning up? I placed a deposit on the blacked-out Int 650 and just waiting for it to arrive maybe this or next month and was wondering if it would be possible to have the exhaust dropped down towards the back like the Meteor 350 or Triumph T120?
@thesundayrides
