I am still amazed watching a top locksmith/lockmaster expert use jiggler and bump keys to open locks. I bought a Chinese set of picks and a see-through training lock and while the quality of the tools was not all that good, it is not until one has a go at picking that one realizes the skill and experience needed to pick locks. The profile you said worked on your Explorer was the same that also worked on 3 family members Dodge vehicles (2 Rams and a Grand Caravan), almost worked as well as the factory key 😕. Great demo! I don't know how often I'd use them but I'd love to have a nice collection of different sized jigglers like those in my arsenal 😃👍

Jiggler keys are brilliant bits of kit. I keep my three sets in my work bag.... Quick and fast for getting into display cabinets at work, lockers are filing cabinets. By way Bill, love the belt buckle and lapel locksmith items. Very cool.

I would probably have more luck with the jigglers, than I do with picking🤣 Like the extraction tools, I have a set, but happily haven’t had to use them yet.

Thanks Bill. Partly thanks to you that I got some lock sports tools that I managed to get my brother's camper open as he locked himself out (with the engine running). Got 1 lock raked and the 2nd lock I gave up on and tried some of my keys on and got it open as well. :) Happy brother. And all that at like 2am in the rain...

Reinserting the half key hopes to push the broken off part to align with the pin chamber depths, then use the other half as a turning tool.

I´m using those extractors for years now, they are great! Sometimes i can even extract a broken key with a hook but to be honest, in about 90% of the times i attack it like you do at about 5:00... It is top of the keyway here in europe of course, that troubled me at the beginnig :-))) Springs will always push the pin up on this side of the pond... :-))) But I nearly always try to help with a pick to push the pins, especially if the key is broken deep inside the lock. Your extractors will live longer ;-) Beside that it is a really pain in the a.. if you can grab the broken key somehow with the extractor but one pin is still blocking due to the warding, so you have to push it out of the way. Also used 2 extractors sometimes to get the job done! Great work Bill, stay healthy and kind regards from Austria, Christian

I had just mentioned jigglers on one of your videos 😅. Mind you I was like 10 or 12 when we had our body shop, but those were my first experience with lock picking. Ever since then, I was hooked. Great demonstration as always

Bill, great video as ever. Regards the expensive item review ... contact the company directly and ask them if they would be interested in lending you the gear. You have a huge and relevant audience they should be interested in knowing more.... and even if they decline or try to put limitations on it might give us a clue about how over-sold the claims might be.

Had these for years and use them often. (Jigglers) Broken key extractors are life savers. I use a different bump hammer though. I do like that belt buckle and lapel pin

After the first video of yours that I saw i immediately wanted a set of lock picks. Knowing no better I bought a set of GoSo picks from wish. I tried my first master lock and got it open on the second try. All of the sudden i thought i was a master lock picker. Lmao. I now know better. Anyeay i asked a friend at work if i could try to open his passenger side door and he said "yeah go ahead." Brand new pick never been used immediately broke off in his door lock. To this day it is still lodged in there because that wonderful set of picks did not come with an extractor. Wish me luck please cause i would really like to get that piece of junk metal out of my friends door. Lol.

Once upon a long time ago before I started picking, I pulled a snapped key out of a doorknob by putting a couple VERY TINY drops of crazy glue on the half a key I had, and pushed it in and pressed it hard against the busted piece stuck inside for a second or two, then very slowly and carefully pulled the whole thing out. No matter how you get it out, if you have both pieces save them and they can be stuck together in the cutter clamp.to cut a new one. Just make sure none of the glue touches anything except the break, or you'll have bigger problems when you glue the whole key into the cylinder.

I used to just use old hack saw blades that I collected.. just trim em down a little on a grinder and hammer em into the lock so the teeth embed into the soft brass key and pull it out.

Julian Collins they are the first thing I try before anything else best investment since I started my Lockout service here in Georgia.. I have the big easy from steck... I have a pick set from southord.. I’m able to get into most anything with the tools I’ve accumulated.. anything more than that I have a couple of real pros I can call for hard stuff🇺🇸👍

@@johnteague136 ,I operate now outside my normal job for the odd lock out situation,houses cars etc(legally i`ll add lol) And for some bizzare reason i`ve never gone for a set of jigglers,,Got a few sets myself from southord,a few single Sparrows hooks and my fellow countryman Chris Dangerfield,Chris`s Polaris rake set is highly recommended by the way,A really top drawer set that is for quick entry,Bill has a review on here,,So quick i`ve felt a bit guilty at times taking peoples money lol :)

I have a set of jigglers and there is a small triangular one with a “1” stamped on it. There are no grooves or bitting of any kind. It’s almost like a shim. What is it used for?

I saw in a video on Deviant Olem's channel an explanation of TSA keys. They said that before the TSA standardized luggage keys, the airline lost luggage staff found that the locks on luggage were very similar. Perhaps all the luggage companies got their locks from a few vendors. So the airport staff collected the keys that opened multiple suitcases and used them. When the TSA was created, they took those keys that were already being used and designated them as TSA keys.

I’m working on the next one , the first one Sables trap almost had you and I lost another pup last year so I was going to make one in his honor . Thanks for showing us these new toys! No, I stopped accepting challenge locks about a year ago. I'll re-post the announcement below with the details. Check out either the MultiPick set of pry bars, or the one that Andy Law makes. Both are really strong and come in a good selection of widths. --------------------------------------------------- Here's what I posted on FB, Twitter, YT & LockLab.com about a year ago: ----------------------------- The "Challenge Lock" series has come to an end. Not only am I out of the "Whipped" PacLocks, but there were many other things that I took into consideration. 1. Cost. Every day I was receiving between 5-10 locks from around the world. I had to return most of them to the owner, which was a SIGNIFICANT expense - always more than $500/month but sometimes approaching $1000. What little I receive in viewer support was quickly consumed in return postage. I was spending several hundred dollars of my own money every month just to return locks. 2. Quality. Some locks were well designed and contained some unique innovations, but they were few and far between. Most "challenge locks" were threaded chambers with serrated pins built on old,beaten up Kwikset cores. The number of trap pins and super springs has continued to increase as copycats realized this might be a way to get a "Whipped" PacLock - meaning I was breaking and bending more expensive picks. I found this very discouraging. 3. Time. Unpacking, picking, disassembling, repacking, answering emails, etc. Each challenge lock took a lot of time to figure out and then return - even if I did not make a video of it. I was spending most of my time setting up and videoing locks that turned out to be copycats of other people's ideas - meaning I could not post the video for fear of viewers saying "WHAT? Another Kwikset with threaded chambers?" 4. Viewer Interest. My goal with LockLab was to remain "New Picker Friendly" and attract new members to LockSport, but LockLab was quickly becoming the "Challenge Lock Channel", interesting to only a limited number of people with advanced skills. Every time I posted a challenge lock video people complained and unsubscribed to the channel. New pickers were overwhelmed by the complexity of challenge locks and became discouraged. My analytics were very clear on this: If I want to lose subscribers all I needed to do was post a challenge lock video. 5. Channel growth. The LockLab's growth was stagnating and I needed to change something before it was too late. Since I stopped doing challenge locks the number of subscribers has increased, the number of comments increased, "likes" went up, and the channel has grown. So, yes. I stopped making challenge lock videos. It was not an easy decision but I could not afford to continue doing it for all of these reasons. The money saved from NOT returning challenge locks I am now spending on locks - and have been doing so for the past month or two. I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to return to picking real-world locks in a wide variety. It is good for me (mentally), as well as good for LockLab. bill

These car jiggler sets look laser-cut with the excessive heat - the edges look somewhat annealed? Could anybody tell, if they are actually annealed (softened) upon laser-cutting, or maybe even hardened? That depends of the kind of steel they use, its heat-treating temperature et cetera. Guys?
