Excellent build! I like how you keep a neat work site and how you make sure that you hand over to the customer a spotlessly clean product. So many carpenters leave a mess while they are working and after the job too. I have a rule that at the end of each day, no matter how tired I am, that I sort out all my tools, sweep up and leave the workplace neat. It makes it so much more enjoyable to arrive for a day's work into a clean space with everything laid out for the day ahead. I have worked many different jobs, carpentry just one of them, but with carpentry in particular, cleaning up at all stages of the job are essential. Well done!

I really love that you include what the cost was for the customer. This really helps people make a decision to pull the trigger on if they want to spend that money and have someone build a garage. Especially because, I find that your prices are reasonable. Your work looks like a master tradesman quality. While others will charge up to $10k more and for what, supposed quality with no proof. You show your work by making these videos. You give confidence to your customers. Therefore, we thank you!

hey Ken - finally saw the side of your trailer, and recognized the area code, then - even better, recognized the town. My dad was from West Glover, and his father built homes in and around the area from the 30's (perhaps earlier, but not much) through the 60's. Many of those homes are three season camps around Lake Parker, Crystal Lake, Lake Willoughby and others. Also built the town hall in Glover (I think that was pre WW2, and was still in use when I last visited 10-ish years ago). Dad took up some of those skills, - he built the dorms at the Craftsbury Nordic Ski Center when he was at UVM in the early 60's - and passed some of the skills and my grandfather's tools to me. I haven't worked in the trades for 10-12 years, but I sure do like watching you do this, and living vicariously through your work.

I owe my neighbor for helping me to Dr and hospital visits . Asked if I'd design a 2 car garage with a bonus room addition .. I always explain to those I design for .. Design is 3 steps if not 4 .. One is the idea , Then a rough draft , check for engineering ,then back to the customer for revisions and changes ..then compress them and check again for engineering and aesthetics . Then final .. I created a masterpiece " as usual " 700 sq ft garage and 500 sq ft bonus room with multiple window shed dormers and some neat things I know with 40 years experience .. Found some great deals on doors .. One of the oddest was a 14' insulated 6 light garage door for 800 bucks .. told the homeowners .. That is not standard and 2 SUV's won't slip by ... unless you have a Mini Cooper .. Probably the deal was ..Someone ordered it and the sales couldn't rid of it since it was a 14 ..The entire project was $15,000.00 and I told them ..This is a $75,000 addition if you had to pay someone .. So we pulled it off for $15 a sq ft !!! .. I generally won't even build a deck for that much on the weekend ..

Hi Ken --- I've never seen someone preframe the walls and bring them to the site. I like the idea. Do you use a computer program to lay out the various sections? Do you only use the top plate to h old the sections together or do you scab a small piece over the joint on the sill plate too? Why block on this garage but not others? Fun to watch you guys work. Thanks.
