I was wondering if you’d get Cadonas in there! That place is jam packed in summer! I think you’ve seen more of the city than I have. Though you didn’t visit Duthie Park and the Winter Gardens to see the talking cactus.

Haha I bet! Loved all the beach area. Ooh I'll have to visit those on my next trip 😁

Aberdeen is really an amazing place to visit. To have a city built with granite is such a marvel to witness. Marischal College is spectacular to see. I really wanted to visit the Tolbooth Museum but it was being renovated but Provost Skene's House is fascinating as you demonstrated. Old Aberdeen is wonderful and has real magic in the air! xx

I went to Uni in Aberdeen and ended up spending five ears there - I loved my time there! Plenty of places to check out - Footdee needed to be on the list, it's a former fishing village along the beach and it's like a fairytale with all the tiny cottages. Slains Castle and the Tippling House both good places to check out for the decor and drinks selection respectively.

Thanks for the comment! Looks like I'll have to go back at some point to check out these spots as well :)

haha it must take a while to get all the pronunciation! We have the same here down in the West Country. Wow didn't know that the beach was that long!

You missed out one of Aberdeen's gems, when you were at the beach. The small fishing village of Footdee or Fittie was along the beach at the harbour mouth.

English Heritage wouldn’t usually have any castles in Scotland…. It would be NTS or Historic Environment Scotland. I don’t know what the position is with National Trust and NTS but I’ve got Historic Scotland which gets you into English Heritage and Cadw after one year of membership. A similar deal applies for English Heritage members visiting Scotland.

Sorry complete slip of the tongue on my part, of course it wouldn't be English heritage! Yes, as an English heritage member I can get into historic Scotland or cadw properties for free too. Dunnottar castle is privately owned though so couldn't use that!

@@ClairesFootsteps It is annoying having two different bodies running these things. English Heritage gets you into Edinburgh and Stirling castles but not Brodick or Culzean as they are NTS.
