Throwback to March 2021, when Tasman boated from the south coast of NZ to the southernmost fiords in Fiordland for 18 days on a solo mish! Seafood was eaten, deer were hunted, sandflies were well fed, and good times were had all round!
This was way before I'd gotten any camera gear so it's all by Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphone. I also didn't take many videos on this trip, so enjoy the pictures!

Yeah that's a heck of a passage! Just pick your weather windows and it'll be an adventure 😁. Would recommend the fjords further north for more extreme high cliffs and waterfalls

Epic... and a little terrifying just watching from a desk. Such a long way in such a little boat. At the beginning, I thought noooooooooo, just don't do it, you'll die. But no, you tamed it. Impressed you managed to get phatt into the video, but it was missing a long niiiiice. It also seemed a bit unusual without Arved, you know, there is bert and ernie, kermit and miss piggy, morcambe and wise, ben and jerry, and well, Tasman and Arved.

Hi Tasman, ive been watching your vids for a while now, super inspirational the stuff you do. I have some questions about the boat, Is your motor 15hp? What sort of kms would you make on a 20l tank? Im trying to plan a doubtful sound trip in mine and wondering how much fuel im going to need to be able to have a good look around. Thanks.
@NZWildAdventures
@NZWildAdventures 6 ай бұрын
That's awesome, thank mate 😊. Sorry for the delay, she's a Tohatsu 18hp (basically a souped up mercury 15), goes about 4-5km per litre, so for a 20L tank she'd do 80-100km, depending on sea conditions, gear weight etc. I recommend taking yours out for a spin locally to see what km/L she does with your expected load, be an accurate way of working out how much you need. And I like to take an extra 15L or so just in case if I'll be in the wop wops 👌 hope you have a good look around, hoping to head that way later this year 🤞

Thank you! Well it sure isn't safe just leaving it by the boat ramp 😂 at least it wasn't for my easy to steal 1994 Starlet 😂. I left my car last time with some farmers near the boat ramp, and that was great peace of mind. I'd be inclined to go visit the locals if you can and leave your vehicle with them if they're happy to. Thanks for watching!
