I have mobility/disability issues and cannot shovel anymore. I needed a snowblower that was super light and I could keep inside so there's no starting issues when it gets to -50C here. I bought this Snow Joe and a couple extra batteries so I didn't have to worry about riding it hard. It is absolutely perfect for my needs and performance exceeded my expectations.

Good review, I just bought one for my townhouse in Northern Virginia. The past few winters have been mild, this year we're expecting a lot of snow. Can't wait to use it and help my neighbors out.

I have the SJ618E model. Which is corded. For a small to medium sized driveway it works well. With a little experience you learn how to manage the extension cord without any problems. When you put the batteries back in the charger for recharging they may had had to cool down a little first. Snow Joe now offers a 48 volt model with 8 AH batteries, but the cost is $650. Thank you for the honest review.

I love mine too but I'm getting sick of the core it always get too cold and Tangled Up and I'm older and don't have time for all that but I love my snow Joe cause I use a 100 foot cord

@@Patricia-uu6wo Thanks for the comment! Cordless is the way to go if you can. I can't imagine trying to maneuver around the cord.

@@ABrazHouse lol 🙄🙄 it's a challenge but you know there's another type of I can't think of material that you can buy and braid a cord that Tangles like that and it'll never tangle it keeps it from tangling but it's like braiding it with the other type of strip string I saw it on a a dog grooming show she said it kept the Clippers cord from tangling up from repetitive use

@@Patricia-uu6wo Yes for the sake of convenience cordless is the way to go. I purchased a corded model for the great cost savings and never having to stop for recharging. I also purchased a very good quality 12/3 cold weather rated extension cord.

Last snowfall in Colorado 2 days ago. 12 inches plus, heavy, wet snow. Pulled my hamstring shoveling. Took 2 hours to shovel it all. I've been looking into these. Not sure what version I should get. Our limit is $500 - $800

The cordless sno Joe's are bad, real bad. Tried to use mine and ended up shoveling because it couldn't handle 6" of medium snow without problems. In perfect conditions it's probably fine but in the real world where conditions are rarely perfect it's just too much of a pain in the arse.

If you live in an are prone to lots of snowfall, buy a GAS blower! We had one in Massachusetts and it was AWESOME! Some winters we didn't use it as snow fall was light, but when it's 6-inches + of heavy snow, you'll be grateful you have it.

How long does it take to recharge the batteries? My other concern is clearing the industrial sludge that the city plows pile along the curb. I normally have to cut 3 paths from sidewalk to street, and this snowjoe might not be up for that task. I'll find out this winter.

I want to see how this holds up when the snow plow comes and blows all the snow at the bottom of the driveway. I am looking for a Battery snow blower that can handle that specifically.
@ABrazHouse

Yeah, that's always a pain isn't it? Plus that stuff is harder and more dense.

Just tried my 24v-x2 xb1 on 2inches of powder on full charge. It keeps cutting out every few feet. Is there some sort of safety cut off?
@ABrazHouse

Definitely doesn't sound normal. Mine cut out a couple of times when it (battery) was getting low and I was hitting some heavier stuff.

I just purchased both of the SnowJoe machines you have.... my question is how are your batteries holding up? I've read the instructions and they say to RECHARGE when it gets to the 2nd bar light - DO NOT run the battery out all the way.... I haven't had snow yet so I'm waiting. Just want to know why you are running batteries out almost fully? and how they are now holding up? Thanks!
