Rare to find an adequately sized aquarium for the fish relative to correct representation of habitat. Excellent

It's definitely something special. It's something that I'm not used to see or even keep, but it's eye opening looking to this and try to understand the other side. I really learned a few things with them and by looking to some of their tanks, I will take a few things in consideration from now on.

No doubt, this layout reflects the expertise of it's creators! Evident by the overall niche look i.e. a shallow riverbank where small tetras dominate instead of a cliché biotope in which angelfish & festive cichlids from deeper waters mingle with small tetras that do not actually occur in Nature. Magnificent layout! ❤❤❤😍❤❤❤

Beautiful tank, as the dead leaves break down how do you prevent the detritus from settling on the plants and killing them?

There is algae in the tank, but it is natural. Very pretty, i very like it, an inspiration. The wood, the dead leaves :-) It's like looking in a steam.

It's a biotope! It's quite normal to have algae... It's a completely different concept of a Nature aquarium in aquascaping. 😉

Untill I saw the works at by you, Ms Balbi and the team at littletreedesignbiotopes, I didn't know that biotopes could be so beautiful. Now I would seek more information as I can about biotopes. Can you pls let me know if these scapes use Co2? Can it be used? And if tanin water is fine for plants?
@FAAOAquascaping
@FAAOAquascaping 2 жыл бұрын
Only mine and Balbi's tank will have CO2. You can always add it considering the plants used. If they are low demanding also low light intensity, no need to use unless you want to have a certain ph and chasing the perfect values. Otherwise most of Biotopes cna run without it

I see algae algae algae - on plants! An Aquarium is a artificial biotop and needs care, especially as the supplements the plants need are used up! CO-2 belongs in there, so that the algae are suppressed and the growth of the higher plants is strengthened! Because an artificial biotope like an aquarium works on the basis of a natural biotope, but it is much too small to sustain itself and to make all its inhabitants happy / to provide them with the essentials because the supplements in the starting water are dissipated consume quickly for a few days, maintaining the living conditions is only possible with care, means CO-2 fertilization, nutrients for plants in the open water zone and in the substrate, the right light sufficient for photosynthesis of the plants, the right warmth in the open water zone and in the substrate (floor heating cable, otherwise the plants have cold feet), thereby nitrification in the substrate, filtering by bacteria and processing of nutrients by reducing iron chelate complex III to iron chelate complex II, because only this for the Plants are available, so to speak "edible", and the correct filtering via external filters, which make up approx. 5 to 10% of the tank volume and its real water delivery rate (after deducting the loss of performance due to resistances such as hoses, suction strainer, height compensation, filter medium) circulates approx. 2 to 3 times the entire pool volume! And this maintenance of the essential supplements is monitored by intelligent control electronics and, if necessary, automatically counteracted, i.e. raised to previously programmed values, only with this an artificial biotope remains stable in all areas!

Algae is quite normal in a biotope. This is not just a normal planted aquarium... In natural habitats, algae are visible and seen in most of the parts. Of course some people freak out about it and don't like it, but it's just something natural as a biotope is.
