After staying in Atherstone due to a week of non-stop rain, I finally had a nice day when I felt like moving on, and took the opportunity to descend the eleven-lock flight.

I am trying to figure out why your videos are so addictive. All I come up with is you have figured out a great mix of what people need to relax. you're skilled with video, You're skilled with journalism and you have a great topic. PS I personally would not mind more videos of those little birds drinking the driping water or the flowers or butterflies. But take my advice cautiously because whatever you're doing is working to relax thousands of people.
@CruisingTheCut

I wish I could show more of the birds etc but it all comes down to pure luck in terms of them being there to film and not flying off by the time I've got the camera on them. Real wildlife videographers will spend months trying to get one shot, I have only seconds!! :-)

In my days as a plasterer in the 70's/80's when Water-Points were scarce and electricity and toilets on sites were rarer than hen's teeth, I used to have my own Hydrant which I'd connect to the nearest point, (because hydrant points had to go in with Services before sites could start) and the pressure was sublime!! a 45 gallon drum took about three minutes maximum. Not too sure how 'legal' it was - But! - OH Well ;-) Something to put in your thinking cap #YoungDave?? .......

I like to see all the little things along the way like water points etc. At first I thought that my interest in off grid houses and now also narrowboats, were to get away and be disconnected from the world but I have come to the realisation that is about freedom to choose and more importantly, having tasks off work that I need to do to keep my brains occupied with things that aren’t watching depressing news that I have no chance of doing anything about.

Agreed on wind chimes, and, you would have to live in my house or visit for a BBQ to believe it, pot sheep. And while I'm bitching I might as well mention that now after watching the show I see why you should not ride bicycles on the canals they simply were not designed for that. Also they were not designed for fishing. and even more importantly they were not designed to be a walking path. I hope this eventually turns into a major legal issue. That the canals have ultimate right of way it's maritime law. The boaters who pay the license fees in the CRT who control the canals have the ultimate authority to keep people off those paths. This is still an active commissioned Maritime corridor.
