The only thing missing is the tumultuous applause of the full house this performance so richly deserved. I'm not really into organ arrangements of orchestral pieces, but yours are so damned good and so excellently played! These KZfaq concerts are a delight. Congratulations and thanks.

I was enjoying the performance at full volume while I was sending emails and nearly keeled off my secretary chair when the cannons went off (didn't notice that in the title) For one horrible moment I thought Mr. Scott had been assassinated by someone sent by Tsar Putin as punishment for the temerity of arranging the piece for organ. Will listen again suitably immunized against heart attack!

Year 2001, somewhere in Ohio, the 4-th of July open air concert... the Conductor announces: "Don't ask me why we perform Russian composer Piotr Tchaikovsky on the 4-th of July...I don't know why"... and the final (real) cannons mixed with thunderstorm, lightnings and heavy rain in the dark... everyone left totally wet and impressed. (greetings from Russia)

In memory of the fact that the US declared war on Great Britain in 1812 hoping to take advantage the British involvement in the Napoleonic War to take over Canada. Unfortunately for them they only managed to fight a losing draw that time as the Brits/Canadians pulled back after sacking Washington DC and burning down the White house and conquering the northern shore of Lake Erie almost to Detroit. The French were unable to come and help the US win unlike 35 years earlier.

@bfcmik Wrong. The US only wanted part of Canada and not very badly. The US declared war on Great Britain to stop the Royal Navy kidnapping our merchant sailors at sea and forcing them to serve on their ships. That objective was achieved so we won.

I can beat that (timewise). I played the 1812 (unfortunately never in concert) with my High School Band (Ft. Lauderdale High, FLA) as bass drummer, bought a record on my way back to Germany in New York, have listened to various performances over the years (I’m 74 now) and today (03:27 before retiering) for the first time on an organ. Way back in the early 90s I was an artilleryman stationed at Ft Stewart GA, and my unit (A battery 13th field artillery) was “salute battery” for the 24th infantry division (mechanized.) The gun crews provided cannon fire from 75mm pack howitzers for military ceremonies, parades, and other functions, and in either 1991 or 92 they fired for the Savannah Symphony’s July 4th performance of the 1812 Overture. Looking back, I wish I’d been part of a gun crew at least once.

Majestically played! With this piece I always am thinking of one of my great-great-after uncle who just fled over the Berezina and survived, as was told by my grandmother a long time ago!

Amazing! Incredible! I never thought that a single person was able to perform this piece as complete as a full orchestra.

All of the brides are going to be demanding this piece as part of their preludial music. Maybe I'm lucky to be retired!
