I did 11 years ont a frame rack 28 years total as an A tech that 55 can no doubt be repaired. A little pulling and pushing from the inside that cowl will walk right out .I cant wait to see the return of my most favorite 55 ever. Glad to see dad moving around ok .

Dude, that's the way it feels when you tear something up REAL bad. You have to set it aside and come back to it later. Don't be discouraged. It obviously means a lot to you. Systematic and careful evaluation is the first step to recreating your dream. Tear off the really bad stuff and then reassess. You got this man. I'll be waiting to see the rebuild that I'm sure you will do soon.

My first car was a 55 2 dr wagon with a dual quad punched 283. It was stolen a few days before I left on a tour bus to play for Bobby Kennedy in San Francisco - KRIPES ! I finally replaced it with a brand new special order 'Seafair' Corvette, white / red inside. I gave it flying lessons on Hwy 99's Viaduct. It ended up shorter than a CRX, only thing undamaged was the running gear and the passenger compartment with 22 bends in the frame. It was just as much fun putting it back together as destroying it... Keep enjoying that beautiful car... I'd love to replicate/upgrade my lost 55 2 dr long roof.

Hey 187 Customs! I can tell it Hurts when you guys look at the 55 and getting the plan on taking it apart and see things start move to some other spot and work on! Then you said start here work front R front L and then side and then the back went pretty smooth unloading it off the trailer too! Hope to see some video of the metal work and your dad in action on that Frame Rack that would be great content! I love the little dog it's so tiny in the garage look on the hunt or something too funny! Can't wait to see the 55 coming back around into shape! 🤔😉😎👍📹💯

You absolutely should rebuild YOUR 55 but if it can't be then I absolutely agree, because I would not build a different 55 ever, it would never be yours. It's unicorn or nothing which is the right choice. I had to make the same choice with my Lightning a few months back and I am so happy I did. It's very healing to bring back not replace.

The frame machine's available today are very capable of pulling that car back into shape. It'll be able to get back on the road. Plus with the aftermarket body panels being repopped you can build a 55-57 from a box....from Wyoming USA 🔫🤠🇺🇸p.s stay safe

Iv got a 3rd gen camaro iv owned 25 yrs. Iv built it from the ground up and now passing it on to my son. Its got a 406 small block chevy in it. I would cry for days if something happen to it.

I definitely understand the car's not just a car it's like a piece of the family with so many memories. However at least pops is still here I sit here and watch this and wish I could help you all with the tear down. hey guys great show i found allot of videos from the crash at a diffrend angle. Omg it went trough concreet man just slammed a piece out didnt saw it on your video but i saw it on one other really good. And guys that right backside is so wrecked because thats why it did not flip. it hit the sidewall at the moment the car wanted to roll. I know you guys get it back on the streets and it gonna cost money but seen the video few times.. luckly your dad got away walking man greets from hollandica keep it up guys:)

Man, this brings back bad memories. My first car, was a 1970 Mach 1 Mustang that I purchased as a HS senior in 1973. I saved every penny from jobs I worked since I was in like 7th grade. It wasn’t very fast but I put every spare nickel into that car. I was an idiot young driver and ended up rolling the car off a small embankment. I remember going to the wrecking yard and just standing there staring at the car. Then I removed all the salvageable custom and race parts from the car!
