Patience. Richard is a great role model at least in some ways... like bringing beer.

Talking with a guy that makes prosthetics and his number1 bit of advice is to shed weight like there's no tomorrow. The lighter and more nimble the better he says. Makes sense to my mind.

There's no denying Richard's testimony. From the TAT video I saw with him in it, I didn't realize that he was a one-legged man.

Wow! Cool as the other side of the pillow that you have a friend like Richard. What a blessing to have him to relate to after your accident and amputation. With family and friends supporting you I know this will not slow you down. Awesome.

Hi Don, A good dose of Richard is just what the Doctor ordered, and I truly believe that through your close friendship with him you will continue to gain further great support even though you are already tough as nails. You have already impressed the medical staff and everyone watching through your bravery, recovery efforts, along with your overall mental and physical status to date. 🙂

A baby learning how to swim. A royal pain in the ass. Hahahaha. Dude what a great inspiration Richard is. It will be good to have his insight in getting back into the swing of things. Glad you guys got to enjoy a beer together!

Couldn't agree more with your friend-those are very wise words. It definitely gets better and easier sooner than you think. Once you're all healed up, Dan, we should think about starting a one-legged motorcycle club. Due to the price of initiation, it would be a pretty exclusive MC! Lol

Dude you’re killing it. For real. Been watching but haven’t commented lately. Great friend you got too and what an amazing coincidence (or is it) that he has been through the same. Keep up the good fight! 💪🏼 🙏🏽

Again, I see another TAT in your future. You'll first have to master the "dead feeling" foot like Richard did/does. Remember Richard in the "Marshall Pass Trans America Trail Motorcycle Adventure - Tenere 700 & KLX 300" episode leaving his foot behind. When you get home and adjust to your new life, you will learn new skills...you have survived. God bless.

It's always better to get directions from a one legged man. They know the shortest route to get there. Never take directions from a one tooth man. They do everything the hard way.

Many years ago, I had a young friend who was in hospital and was days away from dying from cancer at the age of 24. It was devastating. I went and saw him. He asked if I would sneak him in a beer. I felt he just wanted to feel 'normal' and have the freedom to do what he wanted to do for once. No one would break the strict rule of no alcohol, and also said no to him because it wouldn't be 'good for him' (as if the cancer WAS??) Well, I didn't go get him a beer either --- I got him a six-pack of some crazy, pricey beer that had a tiny plastic cat dangling on the neck of each bottle!! The cats made him positively giggle and he looked so excited and happy! He did with the beer what I knew he would do with it - he barely wet his lips and that was all he had. He got a big kick out the sneaking of a six pack into his hospital room. It was like a big, naughty adventure to him. We had a wonderful visit. He passed away a few days later. Good on you, Richard, for bringing your good friend a beer!
