Today we’re kicking off a 4-part series with return guest Layla Martin, where they will take you through their recent Priestess Pilgrimage through Greece. Together, they traveled to several sacred sites to have a visceral experience of the very same places where priestesses were serving medicine and practicing sacred sexuality rituals that helped to form the very fabric of Western society. Things like democracy, theater, even religion.
In Part 1 they discuss what it means to be a high priestess, and why reclaiming words like “witch” and “priestess” empower people to connect with their own divinity. They also introduce the religion that has no name - something that humans have been practicing for millenia in order to connect with God through Nature, plants, animals, their own bodies, dance, music, medicines, breath, trance and meditation.
Layla and Emily also give a history lesson on why people used to travel to Eleusis to change their perception of death and the afterlife. Plus, they explore why it’s so hard to control people who have access to psychedelics and modalities such as breathwork, yoga, meditation and sacred sexuality.
So why isn’t everyone using psychedelics to tap into the divine? Discover the reason in this week’s episode of Why Isn’t Everyone Doing This?

Love what Layla says about how white (I prefer European) peoples lost their tradition then stripped the rest of the world of theirs because of their own eternal pain. I do hope this is the beginning of their return to their ancient traditions as there is a huge movement in the Black community of remembering and returning to their cultural traditions. All of these ancient traditions reminds us of our divinity. That we are not lower but one with god/goddess. When we remember that and fully embrace it, a lot of the damage we have done as humans will begin to heal.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! It's fascinating to see how different cultures have evolved and sometimes lost touch with their ancient traditions over time. Reconnecting with our roots and embracing the essence of our divinity is sooo powerful and now is the time to truly come together and heal ourselves and the planet! 🌍💫🙏

I have been waiting for this information to be confirmed and cannot wait to delve into Brian's book now. I had a few experiences with psilocybin when I was younger (Gen X), but it wasn't with intent. About 2-3 years ago, I actively sought to work through trauma through EMDR and intermittent psilocybin use. (FWIW, I work in mainstream medicine with a graduate degree). I had doses from 1-5 grams. I haven't had any for about a year now because I knew I needed a lot of time to integrate everything. I never had hallucinations, even on high doses. I had downloads and emotions. One of those downloads was essentially that I knew a 2nd century Greek (area) priestess was experiencing my present reality through me (she hated modern bread lol). I'm American, primarily of Scandinavian and Celtic ancestry, but found out recently I have a small amount genetics from Greece. It's an old piece though because those I share it with are all northern European or American now. I initially thought that my energy was open to this ancient woman coming into my body, but now I wonder if she was an ancestor. Everything in me tells me she was an ancestor who was sold and forcibly moved north and why generation after generation of women were afraid to step into their power (until me- because I asked for it). There are very few people I can discuss this with because I'd be labelled with a mental health disorder, especially in my mainstream world (the flip side to that is that my world transcends this in a way where in my own work, I genuinely help women and I do want to continue this work). I have said that my next career move will be something along the lines of "future tripsitter at Bohemian Grove" to those I'm close to, but that's going to be at least another decade and my work now is needed. Much of my journey has been solo, but starting to push out into very select community. I grew up a Catholic and Protestant mix, but confirmed Catholic. The night before my Confirmation (I chose Mary Magdalene as my patron saint no less), I had one of the most vivid dreams of my life with Goddess Kali (I was a 14 year old in midwest America- I knew nothing about Kali). In the dream, Kali was in flames and pointing at me saying, "You!" I still don't know what this means exactly. In the past few years, I've realized my own manifesting power, so being very slow and cautious on my own inner journey because I want it to be the highest part of myself doing the manifesting. I had a spontaneous Kundalini Awakening 2 years ago as well. My life is both a complex journey at present AND all these amazing things happening. Most importantly, my eyes now see the magic that came from the pain. Apologies for my book here, but I felt called to say that this podcast was one big "Ah ha" moment of knowing! So much more than this, but I've already written way more than necessary here. My favorite moment was when Layla talked about staying in your power and not being afraid of the whistles. As a woman who's gotten attention for aspects of my appearance since I was far too young to experience it, learning to relish in those blessings and transcending the trauma from the magnetism I didn't understand has been a journey.

Amazing podcast!! I did a workshop with Layla at a FFS Core event. Amazing! I actually had a very vivid transmission/vision of being burned at the stake with my best friend in a past life. We were back to back, tied around a pole squeezing each others hands. It was such a comfort in the most tragic way. But the screams of her pain got seared into my soul. Then we’d squeeze each other hands to get through it… it felt so visceral and real, And it is so sad. Blessings to all goddesses and priestesses. We are magic!!

Yessss!!! We are remembering our truth! I've been reclaiming my inner witch and High Priestess for the past few years, especially through my indigenous, precolonial Filipino roots. Babaylans were medicine women/wise women that used to be critical to our society before they were killed or forced to convert by the Spaniards. Plant medicine and psychedelics have been so integral to my healing and my work as a healer. I love that there's a mass awakening back to our truth, Mother Nature and our bodies.

I love this so much. Last year, after a few years of receiving a lot of the Magdalene codes, as many women have been, I was also guided to Amanita Muscaria or Fly agaric. Life seemed to be showing some deep connection between the two and after listening to this I wonder now if the Magdalane's were serving Amanita? I'm so looking forward to part two. Thank you for this beautiful transmission. Also I noticed how similar the red vulva that you were sat with looks so much like the red waterfall at the Chalice well gardens in Glastonbury/Avalon, I wonder if it was modelled on it? I just so love how alive these energies are again, such an awakening time. so exciting x

As someone who practices Shivambhu / Urine Therapy, I thought it was somehow ordained that you peed when you did, where you did. What a perfect way to baptize yourself at the start of your ascension! As for me, I would have captured my pee, said a blessing over it, poured some out and then drank the rest. 🤩 No Joke and NO Shame!!! BTW, the Romans used human urine to Launder their clothes!!! 👏 What an amazing experience!! Your explanation of your experience/Trip reminded me of what I experienced of psilocybin. So cool!! Lots of juicy wisdom!! I love you both. 🙏🔥💞

Wow, those remind me of the exact same sessions we had in the sixties. Free your sexuality, use weed, LSD to discover the spiritual realms of your own god, play in mud in Woodstock etc. I had hearts, flowers and butterflies all over my apartment. Love, love, love was everything and listening to U-Thant speak at the UN (I worked at the UN school) took us temporary into paradise. And here we are amidst wars, hatred, strive, divisions and once again some have sex orgies with drugs and talk about love. Real spirituality and love takes sacrifice and endurance of tests. There really ae no "quickies". They last for a while but that's it. \From the comments i see that people once again get blown away like many of us did way back then.

Love this! Thank you! Can you please talk about teenagers and how to talk about psychedelics and using drugs for medicinal/spiritual purposes please? It is so hard raising teenagers right now. I have a 16 year old daughter who is transitioning from traditional public school to online schooling because her anxiety levels are so high and other girls are so incredibly mean - to the point where they joke about stabbing her or wishing her to be in a car accident. I would appreciate any help, or please point me in the right direction. Thank you! Big Love❤

It sounds like you are doing the right thing by finding an alternative educational platform. I had a daughter who was highly intelligent and yet very socially awkward. We found her "tribe," somewhat in a Charter School here in CA. That was way better than traditional school, but she only had on semester left of middle school (that's when the other children got really mean and bad), then we moved out of state at the end of that year. So it was a stop gap, then in high school, she really found her true tribe. She was highly artistic and she was put in senior advanced art as a freshman, and art was an outlet, mostly, but her teacher was a brainwashed, patriarchal enforcer, and referred her to school counseling for some of her dark art (like showing the horrors of war in art, or pictures of her soul awash in waves of different energy)---which for a teenager is pretty darn accurate. But aside from that teacher, her tribe is what got her by. I hope your daughter finds her tribe. Just listen, look for options, try to help her find her niche group or others who accept her and can help her explore the things about her that she can celebrate. It's all we can do. And by trying to find better environments, you are given her an empowered approach that can serve her for the rest of her life. She is learning from you, just by you being willing to try online school. You got this, Sister Goddess. Believe in yourself and don't stop until your deepest soul knows it will be OK.

@@DK-zu6tt Thank you for your words and encouragement and for sharing your story with me! Is your daughters art posted anywhere, I would love to see it. I'm noticing that my daughter is talented in drawing and I want to nurture that. The way these teachers grade each student by one standard of testing is so terrible. We have artists next to scientists next to athletes. The school system needs to change. My daughter is thriving now that she is online. It has it's challenges but she is looking into what matters for her and it was such a big step in the right direction for her. Thank you dear Sister❤

I think we misunderstood it when we were children and until I learned working meditation. WE, as part of it all, are often on the verge between ourselves and other, we can healthy respectfully regulate ourselves on our side of respectful inter-human/being boundary and let others regulate themselves on their side. Or when learning to discern between what I actually know, and what I do not know for sure, and thus accordingly mindfully verbalising my thoughts, and mindfully communicating, and respectfully relating. When we are supposed to be individuals while being: "I Am All That All That Am I", it is always a thin line between healthy respect and that which is not healthy respect-could be termed a sin. And we must forgive ourselves for the negative connotation of the word, it is just something which is incorrect. Optimization would be more correct and Bless Blessing Blessed Blessedness is Optimal Rrighteousnes. heheh Well that's just one way of putting it into words.
