With all do respect i can gauge by the type of men these people look or portray to be they have Zero knowledge on roofing per say let alone the actual job process or how its even installed. I see them as car salesmen trying to sell you on a job when they themselves dont know how to even put a hammer to a nail.

Classic production vs sales debate. Bottom line, we need both to make businesses successful. We appreciate all sides of the business, those that keep the work coming and those that produce the job.

@@AmericanContractorShow okay then let me put it to you this way, would you let someone who doesn’t know anything about roofing tell you what you need on your roof let alone let a roofer install it for you when he himself doesn’t know how the job goes or if it’s being done correctly?

@@DirtyChode23 sounds like a bad business. Lol . The first key to selling to by believing in the product . To believe you must learn and sell yourself first . If you aren’t a buyer of your own product you definitely won’t sell it . Trust me , salesmen , and contractors have two very different skills . You don’t want to deal with a roofer who sells his own roofs . You want a mastery a sales putting pen to paper on that . You want a roofer who can roof , and a sales rep who can sell . Moral of the story . You educate them BOTH on their individual skills and talents

Depends, if you are just selling or handling a larger part of the job. Typically 10% or so of the sale price or between 30%-50% of the profits.

Depends and varies by company. We’ve seen anywhere from 7-12% of the gross sales.

Depending on his responsibilities throughout each project anywhere from 7% to 20%, so 140k - 400k. Is he putting together work/ labor orders, managing jobs, meeting adjusters, supplementing, estimating, etc... either way, the kid killed it. If I had to guess on his age and experience 140k - 200k
