Are you around Rolla or Cuba? We are also looking for land in MO, we are from MO, but looking to escape the big city. I found your videos few months ago and many congrats on your beautiful family and awesome property. I thought you had less than 40 acres, did you acquire more land? Anyhow, I enjoy seeing how people are not afraid following their dreams, good for you.

Howdy! We’re about 30 mins east of West Plains. Thank you and Thank you😁We started with 129 and then my Son and Daughter in law wanted in on the action so they bought the adjoining 63.

That may be a lot to some or most. But to me that is tiny. Okla ranch is 4500 and Arizona ranch is 37k. It has a small pasture to wean and what not it's 160 acres. But before I started building a ranch worked them. Biggest place I worked on is 90 sqaure miles

We have good friends in Jordan Valley Oregon who run on 110,000 allotment and 8,000 deeded. Shoot, they hay 2400 acres under pivot alone. After all that, they can only run 1800 pairs. The carrying capacity is almost nonexistent. Maybe someday we could expand a few hundred more here. We’re fully aware that we’re small fish 😁

Nice piece W!! How do your horses an cows getting along together? I had mine together until calfs started hitting the ground. Probably will be getting back to it again. I just hate tying them down as much as the like to run.

Thank you Brett! How many critters do you have? It works great, I start with a slightly oversized paddock in the first cell to alleviate “pressure” then just move the fence forward the appropriate amount 2 to 3 times daily, always leaving a portion of the already grazed paddock accessible for a day or so before moving forward again. It allows the cattle to escape if the horses pressure them and not go through fences. I learned that the hard way😁

Are you going to fence the cows out of the different ponds? I didn't see any wires around them now.
@tickcreekranch
@tickcreekranch 16 күн бұрын
We keep them out of the ponds for sure, but we’re transitioning to all temporary poly wire. I’m not too fond of the high tensile. It’s just another fence line to maintain. We just set them up and take them down. Easy to mow and clean plus it’s so much more visible especially at night. The deer wreck the HT wire but not poly. We’re now using a home built 6 joule solar charger with a remote. Absolutely love it. It’s a game changer
