I colorized , restored and applied face restoration and created a sound design for this video of streets cities around the world 1920s - including , New York City, Chicago, San francisco, London, Berlin, Paris and more..
Video Restoration Process:
✔ FPS boosted to 60 frames per second
✔ Image resolution boosted up to HD
✔ Improved video sharpness and brightness
✔ Colorized only for the ambiance (not historically accurate)
✔added sound design only for the ambiance
✔restoration:(stabilisation,denoise,cleand,deblur)
✔ Face Restoration
Please, be aware that colorization colors are not real and fake, colorization was made only for the ambiance and do not represent real historical data.

Stunning magical footage! It’s amazing. The fact that all these people are dead and at the time of filming they couldn’t fathom even remotely the idea that 100 years later people would be able to see them on little screens in their homes. It’s truly astonishing.

@@ltahoe9257 but then the 60s we kinda had like whole boom into what is now (western) modern society. From the music to progressive ideals on relationships, weather that be with races or genders or identity ect. It wasn’t perfect but the 20s and 60s helped us progress wildly. Embracing change and what the future has in store. I just love history, mostly the 20s and 60s if that’s not obvious 😂

What an amazing use of technology, thank you so much. Imagine telling someone in 1920 that they could see with their eyes an event from 1818. It would be insane. Yet, here we are 102 years later doing pretty much that.

It's actually quite a bit more gnarly than that! Those spans of 102 years saw vastly different levels of progression. We, in 2022, are seeing into an era which is FAR more different from ours than what the 1920 people would see if they could watch videos from 1818. It's wild to think about...

Modern video games set in the past are closer to time travel since you can interant and live in that time period. Like in Mafia remake literally set in 1930 you can drive cars from the time, listen to music from that time while traveling the streets on a 1930s city.

1:52 It's very interesting to see the design philosophy behind these old concepts. You can tell we didn't just go from horse and carriage to a modern vehicle. You can tell there was still this idea of a luxury in transportation just by looking at the back passenger seats, very reminiscent of horse and carriage, from the upholstery to the relatively lifted seating position compared to the driver. It's almost as if though the horse was replaced with a steel contraption but the carriage remained all the same.

Those times were not beautiful. Sure the aesthetics, architecture, and many other things were better, but medicine was much worse, living conditions were terrible for most people, and the world wars absolutely wrecked some of the cities shown in the video. Also the European superpowers were facing an economic and societal crisis as they were traumatized from WWI. Pre-WWI Europe was prob better than its 1920s counterpart.

Cars were a lot bigger than people realize, especially full size cars. Some had wheels the size of semi trucks wheels. Proportions were derived from existing carriages for a long while. People love to crack jokes about the size of American cars in general because it's a trend to bash everything about America, but every other country was influenced heavily by American auto industry and size of vehicles was no exception. Early cars were larger and taller than the majority of those today plain and simple. Some were even heavier.

@@sincity2562 "Some were even heavier." w-what?! Modern cars are made as light as possible using all sorts of technology and knowhow and physics gymnastics, mostly to save on fuel, also less harsh on the tyres, less collateral damage when in accidents.
