The earliest known recorded footage of break dancing from the late 1930's. The music i added to the dancing is: Koke by Tribe.
Buy original Mills brothers music here: ebay.to/2kljBdp
(2018 update. I did NOT use any kind of advance editing software such as Abode after effects/Photoshop etc i simply overlaid the track by Tribe to the original mills brother video using windows media maker. A synchronicity in the universe i happened to find. No special editing needed!)
P.S. Much love for all the wonderful comments and feedback!

I agree with most of what you said but what people don't understand is that these dances move were practice not just in New York, and Los Angeles, but in most major cities with large black populations. Some places just never got credit because their was no hip hop cultural movement in those days. It didn't exist...

Your candor is much appreciated. I have realized that it's when I go abroad that I see people being more realistic about how society moves and culture in a general sense. It's when I'm home in the states that I see (now more than ever) a consistent and concerted effort to remove Black Americans from the annals of history. It brings me joy that 'SOME' good people like you out there are honest and can weed out the propaganda to see the good that we've brought forth to the world 🌎. Love, Peace and Soul.

This video by the Mills Brothers is an example of how the elements used in Hip Hop existed in u.s- black culture before Hip Hop culture existed. Hip Hop culture is truly founded and rooted in the u.s black communities of east coast New York, and west coast in Los Angeles. It eventually spread state to state and worldwide. If the Mills Brothers would have been born and raised in our time they most definitely would have been part of the Hip Hop culture.

@@learner5090 These dances were done in Puerto Rico also as well as other islands. Do you think that black people in America just sprung up out of the ground? Black people in America weren't even allowed to dance at one point. That wasn't the case for the rest of the Americas, where these dances were happening then. People from the Caribbean have always been coming to America whether it was through force or free black people that came on their own. They were the ones reintroducing forgotten cultural habits to us here. It's obvious how effective whites were in erasing the memories of your ancestors, they have you out here thinking that black folks in America invented all of these old cultural cues. As well as some of you lying about always having been here when there's paperwork showing when you were brought and sold.

@user-zr1bg5yh5t that's true in Angola but you should know that's not break dancing and the Capoerira you know of today is Brazilian upgrades more stand up and Acrobatic skills Disguised in a dance to fool the slave masters during the time of slavery, the Capoeira from Africa is more ground based techniques that branched from monkey style kung fu and a remix of African fighting techniques , you should do some history checks

With the exception of jazz ,American"culture" is a hybrid of many cultures, just as USA is multicultural .which is only logical considering the diversity of people's in the United States.. the ONLY ORIGINAL art form America has contributed to the world is JAZZ. Louis Armstrong brought Jazz to the people. We are truly indebted to Black Americans for this great art form. Yet what is sad is how little people support it .hip hoppers will take a few bars and repeat them over and over to some pathetic nursery rhymes and that is about it .Most listeners do not even know they are listening to 'sampling' from great jazz records from the past.Current jazz musicians struggle to get by ,struggle to get heard and recognized. In most independent record stores Jazz is relegated to a sad few bins .Do not blame the stores,if the public does not buy jazz records, why stock inventory that does not sell ?. So the greatest cultural gift to the world, one that Black's have every right to claim and be proud of ,seems to be ignored . Very sad that Jazz is viewed as irrelevant by so many . How many of you out There claiming to "invent" different genres of music Have EVER listened to jazz, purchased jazz records,or supported Jazz musicians?

@@schmittyconstanz I think Jazz is sort of like a spice. It's not popular in it's pure form, like eating a mouthful of cyenne pepper. But subtle seasoning is what people love, and the influence of jazz is extremely wide reaching, where its derivatives have almost completely supplanted the musical styles that came before
