Early automobiles were equipped with Banjo Steering wheels. The wire spokes were a buffer or absorber between the driver's hands and the thrum of the road. The designs often had 3 or 4 spokes made with wires, giving the design the name, "Banjo." In this video, we will demonstrate how we restored this steering wheel. The finish even matches the dash plastic, which we replicate here, at Custom Replications.

what a total waste of time this video is. You should have just showed one crack being repaired and then we wouldn't have to search for the missing part two which I have never been able to find.

An interactive card has been added 3 minutes into the video for your convenience and anyone else who may be watching. The video suggestion has been replaced with Banjo Steering Wheel Restoration Part II. At the time this video was published, part II didn't exist, although it was in the editing room. We do everything that we can to make our videos informative, even though our vehicles fall into a niche market. Our primary objective is to educate and preserve automotive history. Monetization would be nice, but it is a ways down the road. Be that as it may, part II was uploaded in sequence and can be seen on our video list. It has also been added to our "How To" and "Graham Model 97" playlists. As the editor, I do all that I can to make our videos useful more than entertaining. Every now and then, entertainment does make its way. At any rate, sped-up action was added to save the viewer time, while demonstrating realistically, restorations can be painstaking. KZfaq is constantly changing and providing more options for producers to cross reference our videos. Thanks for watching and for giving me the opportunity to make an improvement. ~ Trish
