They crack in the wall of the distributor housing, you can remedy by inserting a piece of copper tube inside which is epoxied in place.

We had exactly the same on ours mate, it was a crack in the block internally. Not the head gasket unfortunately. We changed the block and that sorted it. Is it the original Slat block?
