Great kit. I use the same harbor freight boxes for mine. But if I may make a suggestion put the tool box on top. The stuff in the basket may become projectiles in an accident so having the box on top will hold them in hopefully

I got a 3400 watt dual fuel generator about ten years ago. Ran it only on propane. I powered the furnace, one air handler, fridge, chest freezer. the power supply for the stairlift, Fios box(phone and internet), and a few LED lights. I mostly got it for new england winters, so no AC. Standard BBQ propane tank would run the thing for about 12 hours with that load. After the break in oil change, the oil was clean as a whistle after four years, when I changed it just because. The only prblem I had was the starter battery would go dead while it was in storage. I considered getting one of those battery maintainer devices to keep it charged in storage, but since it would start up after a couple of pulls on the rope, decided not to bother. I did have one time when it wouldn't start. but that was caused by a rag that was wet and frozen that happened to be hanging in front of the air intake and choked it out. Mine wasn't an inverter, so my computer didn't like the quality of the power, but the laptop and cell phones charged up fine. I bought a new 20 pound propane tank annually until I had six tanks on hand, so three days of power. Watch out for those tank swap companies like Blue Rhino. they only fill their tanks to around 17 lbs, not the full 20 pounds of propane, so you won't get as much runtime per tank.

I just took out my maglite the batter exploded. maglite was a great torch 20 years ago. but today it is garbage. basically you are trying to persuade people nokia phone is useable today when everyone is using iphone. I can spend $10 and get a basic mini Olight and it is bright and nice. Customer will pay for made in USA if it is comparable in quality and price. otherwise competition will kill the product. maglite is a great example.

It’s a good unit, I have one. Also, some of the units that have problems starting on propane, all you have to do move the fuel selector switch one way or the other to get propane flow. If you put the switch exactly on propane it will not start.

Thanks for watching! An inverter produces cleaner power which is better for electronics - it’s like the power from the utility. It’s also quieter and more fuel efficient

I've had the Predator 3500 for several years and use it frequently. I work on my own engines and can tell you from experience that the carburetor in the 3500 is awesome. If it has a problem, it's probably not the carburetor. I'm a big believer in only running 100% gas in small engines (because of carb gumming), but in a pinch I've had to run regular 10% ethanol gas several times without fuel stabilizer. It sat in the tank (and inside the carb) for an extended period of time. It fires right up for me just about every time. The only times it hasn't fired up, has been a failure of the ignition module. It seems like the voltage regulators burn up. They're designed for a heat sink, and I think that's one of the places they went cheap to keep the cost down. The modules are inexpensive though, so I keep a spare on hand. I'm watching your video because I want to upgrade to the 5K. I'm hoping it's built similarly to the 3.5.

Thanks for watching! I’m going to do some more videos on it and more testing. Hopefully we get a real power outage and I can test it in an extended runtime scenario

Put a straw in your mouth. Hold your finger over the open end so no air can escape. Blow as hard as you can, for as long as you can. In a short period of time you will learn that the air has no where to go. You will become overworked and drained. Such is the same principle for a generator. It’s pushing and pushing power, but it has no where to go, resulting in premature failure. Hope this explains it SIMPLE terms.

Why is it "more safe" to have the propane cylinder farther from the generator? It seems to me that it's easier to trip on and break the propane line when it's farther from the generator. Also, if it leaks "over there", it will leak when it is closer. "Just, you know, for safety" would be to check the connections for leaks with soap & water or a leak detector. Don't believe and propagate everything you hear; turning the tank on quickly causes absolutely no issues whatsoever. There is nothing in the regulator or the generator which would stop the flow of gas if you do. The only way the flow would be stopped is if you invert these newer OPD tanks. What are "sensitive electronics"? - certainly not devices with switching supplies in them like computers, TVs, Blu-Ray players, phone wall-wart chargers, etc. that can accept any kind of AC -noisy or not- from 90-265 volts. So I get 18 hours of run time on a full tank of gasoline and 10 hours on 20 lbs. of propane regardless of whether it is fully loaded or lightly loaded? You say you can scroll through the display to read different "data sets" - so, the screen has a history function showing a whole data set for each individual parameter it displays? How would one hook up the "travel trailer" connection to a transfer switch, since this is a 120V output only, and household transfer switches would be 240V?

There is a reason that Honda generators cost more than your dual fuel generator. I hate to say this but the truth is that your Champion 2500 dual fuel generator will experience more of a voltage drop then the smaller Honda EU 2000. Reason being is that the Champion has a tiny 79cc engine where the Honda 2000 has a 98CC engine and the 2200i has a 121cc engine in the same real estate that your 2500 has. My Honda 2200 will run a 13,500 btu a/c on my RV without a soft start, yours may or may not. All in all the Champion is a great generator for those on a budget especially with the dual fuel but not to many consumers truly know the limitations of what it can power. As long as one stays within the parameters and limitations of that 79cc displacement engine you will be happy. Everybody talks trash about Honda generators and how expensive they are just like everyone compares their trucks to Fords, if they are so bad why then compare them . Just don't bring it up and sell the generator for what it is a small inexpensive dual fuel generator.

If you want to put a generator to the test live off grid! I, a friend of mine and a neighbor that all live off grid have killed Honda’s in the past. Don’t get me wrong., When a Honda works they are fine. It’s when they stop working and you need to get them repaired. All 3 Honda EU2000’s I owned died before 2000 hours and were not worth repairing.

I've had this generator (same thing, but all black) for a couple years now. I've experienced all the same things you have, including installing the same kind of hour meter. You hit both all the bumps and great things about it. I have experienced the difficult propane starting. I may be wrong, but without currently having the user manual in front of me, I think the manual I have may not have mentioned moving the control from choke to propane after the initial pulls. On the other hand, I have noticed that I can easily start it on gasoline, then plug in the propane hose and it will switch to propane and run on that. Then change the control to propane. Another thing I've noticed is after running on gasoline, the spark plug will get the black, oily contamination that a gasoline engine usually does, but after running on propane for a little while the plug will clean right up. Run on propane, you'll never want to change the plug. Regarding running my camper 13,500 BTU air conditioner, my generator will do it on propane, but I have to take it off of Eco mode to be able to start it. A good review of a great generator, in my opinion.
