Beautiful guitar. My parents worked at Fender in Fullerton in the 1950’s. My mother polished and painted, then she made the pickups. My dad cut and sanded. My dad said Leo Fender was a very nice man and treated everyone who worked there very well.I wish my mom was still here, she could’ve answered some questions. The Esquire was a model I remember her mentioning. I wonder how many guitars made today would still be playable after 60 years.

@@kurtspringer4071 It was originally Jeff Beck's and he gave it to him as a gift when he joined The Yardbirds. I have the signature version "Mirror Tele" and man that thing is absolutely awesome! I use the Top Loader instead of the Through Body since I have a traditional Tele as well. I've wondered what would happen if I strung like every other string differently. It would probably feel really weird I'd say.

I got a Classic Vibe custom from a pawn shop super cheap some years ago with the intent to flip it. I got it home and it was like amazing, the way it felt, and the sound it was just too good. Unfortunately I still sold it, convincing myself I needed to since I had already gotten 1 or 2 other guitars recently. I haven't tried another Classic Vibe custom since then, but I wonder it it would feel the same...

Real cool Esquire! My ears shot up when I heard Claremore. My g/f & I did up all of Route 66 - Chicago to LA - 3 weeks on the road. My favorite state was Oklahoma - for the people and the food (I'd weigh 700 lbs if I lived in OK, but a happy 700 lbs). In fact, my g/f bought me an Oklahoma Route 66 sign that hangs on the wall above my computer. Claremore is on Route 66, so I know you got a gem with this Esquire!

HNY . . . yes, I chose a Wilkinson top-loader Telecaster bridge for my homemade Tele . . . compensated brass saddles . . . supposed to be better than string-through.
@隠れた
@隠れた 3 жыл бұрын
Not better but had a slightly different sound and if u like the sound it’s a matter of opinion but I’d say technically speaking string thru is “better” unless u prefer that niche sound of top load
@leonarddaneman810
@leonarddaneman810 3 жыл бұрын
@@隠れた From what I've read, a string through has more string, longer, to stretch doing bends . . . a top-loader's strings are almost 2" shorter, so respond to bending quicker.
@隠れた
@隠れた 3 жыл бұрын
@@leonarddaneman810 well it has less of an angle so the string break creates a slinkier feeling but it also takes some sustain away and give it a more slinky tinny sound as the strings are vibrating thru thin light met instead of straight thru the wood of the body, either way is fine it just depends wat the player prefers as both sides can be seen as benefits
@leonarddaneman810
@leonarddaneman810 3 жыл бұрын
@@隠れた While string past the nut can 'sitar' out, the bent bit of string past the saddle is pretty solid . . . it is the length of the excess string behind the saddle that changes the stretch of the string when bending a note.
