I think the steering wheel is the correct way up. The emblem in the middle is WO. If you turn the wheel around the emblem would be MO/OM. If you can spin the emblem around, that may change the wheel. Tim

The willys is coming around. The list on an old car or truck seems to be eternal. As soon as you get some things knocked out a few more show up. I have no idea what the headligjt switch on that old willys is but if it were like dodge trucks ofc70's and 80's if you turn the switch it wikk turn the dome light on.. cant imagine it just deciding to stay on. Thanks for sharing, and keep up tje good work

Great job. Very methodical. My OCD and I really like that. Lol That jeep is a real find. They're hard to come by in that condition. Everything here in the northeast is either a real basket case or totally restored. The owners of the basket cases just think they're restored when they want to sell em. Not sure where you are in the country, but these old jeeps are gettin really scarce round these parts. I'm sure you get this alot, but I'm interested if it becomes available. I dig what you're doing, old trucks and tractors are a bunch fun. Thanks for posting. See ya in the next one.

Yes, I'm a bit OCD. I have to break these projects down into smaller tasks, otherwise it can be overwhelming! :)

Thanks for bringing us along for the ride. Glad to see you got her back on the road. I would bet that even when new, that speedometer was no more accurate than it is now. Be well.

We still need to fix the dome light. Looks like you had a little problem shifting gears with your hand injury. Guess we need to take a model t for a ride.

What a nice one. I would be tempted to just do a welding repair (machine shop if you don't do it yourself) on the pass side mounting tab and try to keep the rest of the tailgate as-is just so it matches the rest of the pickup. But I understand if it's a bit too far gone to keep also.

I did that very thing with the tailgate in Part 10! Thanks for watching!

You might want to put some more miles on it because that might reveal more problems. Not that you want problems but knowing is better than not and being surprised.

I agree. That's the only way to shake out all the problems.

Save the tailgate. It has the embossed WO on it. That makes it much more valuable. I hear that they get stolen of the trucks. So try and make it as hard as you can to get it off. Padlocks make for good show to the casual thief but not the guy who really wants it. Do something creative with the hinges they come off much to easily. 😊 I hope your having a great time with it. I have a 49 truck a 47 cj2a and my wheeling rig a 59 ( I think) m38a1 with a 350 sb 4 speed and dana 44's. 20 years ago it was a modern modded wheeler. These days its just old school. If you dont have $10,000 axles and suspension to match you might as well stay home.😢

Yes, I am enjoying working on the truck. I found an engine problem, but when everything is fixed it should be hoot to drive!

Man that is one nice truck! I'm not sure which direction that brake switch is pointing, but is it possible that there is an air bubble in it? That might explain why it takes a lot of pressure, it has to compress the air enough to close the switch. You might unscrew it just a little bit and apply brake pressure and try force out the air. Just a thought, good luck with your project.
