Great segment Mike. Your advice on the pans is spot on. Glad to hear that I did my Ghia right.

I just did the exact same pan repairs on my 60' beetle last summer! It's an Autocross car I built on a budget out of a Beetle that was destined to be cut up for parts. When you're finished...you are absolutely correct, nobody will ever know!

some guy ordered this pan knowing he could not return it and decided not to pick it up. Eddy has had it floating around his shop for a year or so. He was glad that I would take it off his hands.

Great Work. Thanks for Sharing....... Duckman uses Ospho 605 Metal Treatment (Phosphoric Acid) as Primer/Rust Converter/Sealer after all the welding is done. He swears by it. It is a little pricey but claims what ever is coated probably won't rust again if treated. Yes, I know everybody go methods, beliefs and what works and as the environment in which you live - and they are no wrong answers unless something does not work at all.

Killer Mike!! I can’t believe the original left side floor pan survived! You’re right; if you lose the sleeves the master cylinder can’t be installed on the chassis. That gear oil that you took out looked new. Yes the ATE and Girling are OEM parts.

Nice work! I'd really like to see you do the underside. I'm curious what kind of under coating you prefer.

Thanks - Mike for the Tips and Tricks for the floor pans ----- I like the Guide you made for use with the Plasma Cutter -- I like it! Does the Harbor Freight Bauer Grinder do the job for you? --- We aren't in production so for the little use we use Harbor Freight Tools I would think it does a good job.--------Rodney

How do you plan to get around the battery placement on the passenger side given that the pan is not the original shape and that the rear seat sits lower?
@Mikefngarage
@Mikefngarage Жыл бұрын
guys do it all the time. it still can sit more foreword and avoid the seat.
