The Filipino boy sounds like a 60s presidential candidate

The Filipino guy has an excellent English language. It seems that his age acts as he’s above 50 years old but he’s only 16 years old to explain and known about Prejudice happened and happening in his country. Very very intelligent boy.

When the 16yr old boy defines prejudice it took me a while to grasp what he meant. That was a very deep thought for a 16yr old kid. "When a person loses track of the dignity of the human soul and begins to judge others not on the basis of there being as persons but on the basis of praise, creed and economic status that is prejudice." This is just very on point and I totally agree with him that prejudice is when we loses track of the dignity, integrity and worthiness of the human soul. We should respect each person regardless of their faith, physical appearance, creed and economic status.

The Japanese girl is noticeably shy but she speaks fluently. Wow.

The Filipino is a man of culture I like that boy

the quality of education in the Philippines during post war was so high because of high standard teachings.. nowadays only few of the reputable schools in the Philippines could provide these standards.. its somehow prejudice in quality education..

By nature the filipinos are friendly people, hardworking, diligent, resilient but conservative too at the same time and mostly are sensitive. Pay them right and they will serve you doubled, treat them right and loyalty is guaranteed. Filipinos know how to payback and are God-fearing

According to my grandmother after WW2 students whom finishes grade 6... can teach as teacher legally... it’s hard to believe but most of my answers for my history subjects and English is from my grandmother. She is really good. There’s a moment when she told us a story. Our mouth is open wide. Amazed by her English.

Every that Raul's voice is always shocked to me- And I always been thought his voice is cute ;-;

I felt like I saw my grandfather the way Raul talked. My grandfather worked abroad in his time, he knew how to speak the language. I listened everytime Granddad spoke English, I got used to it and learned somehow. It's a full year anniversary of his death this november. It's a regret his children living abroad couldn't properly say goodbye since they couldn't fly back due to Covid breaking out that time. Elders chilling in the morning seems so nostalgic now. Not the belt.

Filipinos really hàte Japanese people during and at the end of the second world war, But the Japanese paid reparation after the war and according to my parents that was the time when they have more money. We cannot blame the Japanese people for the war because they were only told to do so by their leaders. Raul is very smart . He express his reasons very well and he is very considerate with the Japanese lady. The impression of most Europeans to Asians that they are lazy, this was answered by Jose Rizal in his book " The Indolence of Filipinos" and the reason for that is the weather. During cold months Europeans can work all day and never get tired because of the cold. In the tropics like the Philippines and Indonesia people wake up early and work hard in the field. Then they take a rest at noon and work again at 3 I'm clock in the afternoon.

But she implied under the surface that the one who will have to decide are the countries who have colonized the other country. I just want to say, "No Judith, your country is not the one to decide how and when a country will be independent. It's the country themselves that will decide. In the first place, they were already independent before they were colonized. Hence, independence means being free from your country, instead of it generally being FREE." That's not what she only thinks, that's what really happened. You really did took away their freedom ans forced them to go by your rules.

Thats funny this video was on my watchlist too. Its very interesting what happened in the past. I love learning history and different peoples perspectives in the past so we learn from it. Alot of those issues still happen today. Like me biracial still deal with that today and it doesn't matter where you are. If you're different people judge you. I am so amazed how the Filipino boy, Raul L. Contreras was so eloquent and truly reflects the influence of the Americans during that time. The accent, the flow, the slang. But the Filipino values in him is very, very evident. Especially how he explained the laziness of Asians and the descrimination of skin color. The Japanese Girl is so cute and very timid but truly speaks her mind. While the British is so posh in her accent. Yeah, it's true that Britain is trying to improve their colonies, unlike Spain. They were all exchange students a program of the United Nations. They are debaters and delegates from each countries. Philippines as a colonized country were taught in english as most books are in english even up to this day. The others may be belong to international schools as well.

Raul attended in one of the best school in the Philippines that only speaks English inside the school compound. This school where most famous lawyers in the Philippines got their degrees. I'm not surprised why Raul was so smart. His school only takes students that are best of the best. Most people that graduated in that school are lawyers, Presidents of the Philippines, top journalists & etc.

Japan, Philippines and Indonesia are all archipelagos outside the mainland Asia. UK is an island separated from the mainland of Europe. As long as there are people who consider themselves as superior race there will always be prejudice between groups of people. Programs like this creates open communication between people and may find solutions on how to lessen the bad effects of prejudice. This is an interesting group.

Guys there’s no such thing as an accent there for Filipinos. During that time students were taught by people who spoke fluently in Spanish and had to learn English due to USA. My grandmother still speaks like that and her mother is spanish so it’s natural.
