My Dad Also owned a 1960 Fury station Wagon , Third Rear Facing Seat & Elec. Rear Roll Down Window ! Loved Driving That Car on Hunting Trips in the Fall in Minnesota ! Only had the " 318 " Engine .

My uncle had brand new sports fury with a golden commando engine and swivel bucket seats. He drove the wheels off it.

This 1960 Plymouth Fury (Not Sport) is beautiful. Another one of Virgil Exners' great designs, this one in Oyster White & Twilight Blue.

05:02 Sorry, that is incorrect. I had a 1960 Fury convertible in black over red for many years, you do NOT need to push Neutral between your other choices while switching gears. I don't know who started that rumor. I never did it and if you'll notice the 1957+ ChryCo marketing touted how much FASTER you could shift from R to D using push buttons. They even had a TV commercial showing a stunt driver flipping his car around doing that. No "N" between gear choices.

It was not necessary to go to Neutral gear before shifting to another as mentioned in the video, bad info. In fact those who chose to operate the transmission manually, could begin by pressing the # (1) button and as the RPMs from the engine increased press (2). As the RPMs and vehicle speed further increased you ultimately pressed the( D ) button which would place the transmission Into an automatic shift mode. If in ( D) Drive gear and wanted to go to reverse, you simply stopped the car, and then while simultaneously holding your foot on the brake pedal you then pressed (R ) to reverse. Because there was no (P) Park lever until later yrs. the (N) Neutral button along with the emergency brake was the order of the day. ☺️
