Back in the 1960's as we know recipes were a little, unique! In this video, we make 'beef fudge' which as the title suggests and surprisingly is beef worked into a chocolate fudge recipe. It's based on an old cookbook where there was lots of excess cattle so people would get creative and add the meat to cakes etc - this is like meatloaf, but turned up to 11!

If you fancy trying this out, here is the recipe write up.... barrylewis.net/recipe/beef-fudge/ turns out this recipe is based on the Carnation famous fudge, except they added in the beef, which yes, is of course very optional! Good luck!

for the fluff you could make fruit dip 3 ingredients 8oz cream cheese, heated in a bowl in microwave 30 seconds at a time until soft, warm and stirrable, stir in a container of marshmellow fluff (the warmth of the cream cheese helps the fluff blend) once blended fold in an 8oz tub of cool whip. dip your fruits of choice (strawberries pineapple and grapes are our family's favorites)

@@mrbarrylewis In your defense, the recipe wasn't exactly clear. A lot of older recipes just assume you already know the technique, and the further back in time you go, the worse it gets. Many Medieval recipes are just basic lists of ingredients, without instruction regarding the cooking techniques, or measurements, or times, and will often leave out the salt because the author assumes you know to add it.

Recipe using marshmallow fluff? There are a few...especially some retro-recipes. I can throw out a few suggestions: 1. Strawberry Ambrosia - It's canned mixed fruit, some strawberry jelly/jam (not gelatin...you get enough of that from the fluff), white rice, and the marshmallow fluff; 2. Fluffer-nutter sandwiches - Just spread peanut butter on one slice of plain and soft white bread, and the fluff on the other...eat as sandwich; 3. Fluffy Buttercream Frosting - start to make a standard buttercream frosting (whatever your favorite recipe is for it), but fully melt the butter instead of just mixing it at room temperature...instead, use the fluff as the initial base, and add your vanilla or other flavoring to the melted butter before slowly incorporating the melted mix into the fluff. You won't need to add nearly as much powdered sugar, and you'll have a different mouthfeel...also, you can completely avoid adding anymore sugar at all if you are looking for a mildly sweet buttercream (or are using an incredibly sweet flavor that you don't want to oversugar or already has sugar...such as rosewater, maraschino liqueur, or orgeat).

Poll-ette hostess, and it's got a poll hereford cow on the front. Looks like a treasure trove of unusual recipes. Though honestly - sugar-glazed meat dishes aren't that unusual in Australian Chinese restaurants (at least not the old school ones), and they're pretty delicious. And mole poblano (chicken in a cocoa sauce, for those not fortunate enough to have tried it) is amazing. So I could see this actually being quite good, if you got the fudge to beef ratio balanced right and had complimentary flavours in each. Maybe if you used the fudge as a pour-over sauce, and spiced the beef so that it had more to grab onto the fudge with once it all cooled; some chilli and oregano, maybe?

Idea for the fluff, make giant Little Debbie Oatmeal Cream Pies. I know they aren't out in the UK, but they are soft oatmeal cookies sandwiched around marshmallow fluff

When EmmymadeinJapan made this recipe she used only half a cup of beef, so I checked the recipe. I think you were meant to use one cup only.

EmmyMadeInJapan did this recipe quite a while back, and the end result is, in her opinion, a good fudge and at best, the beef is a minor textural feature. It strikes me as not something one would dedicate beef to specifically, but something for leftover beef scraps.

You should do a episode dedicated to marshmallow fluff....to use up all the extra you bought. (I love marshmallows) 1. Smores cake (gramcracker cake, chocolate frosting and marshmallow fluff layers) 2. Fluffernutter bars/or explore a fluffernutter sandwich 3.Toasted marshmallow no bake cheesecake 4. hot chocolate cupcakes (marshmallow fluff baked into the chocolate cake with a pudding filling) 5. Mississippi mud cake (this cake is amazing, I've made it several times) also a cookie version of this exist. 🙂👍❤

You can use all that fluff to make the American South classic, fluffer-nutter sandwiches. Its a PB&J with fluff instead of jelly

All that sugar is what you need for a good fudge. Mmmm. My favourite fudge is Real Ale fudge, so add the beef fudge and I have a beef and ale fudge combo :D

I have another fudge recipe you can do with the leftover Fluff. I hope you make this recipe on a video as Ive given you a couple others and you didnt. Also, you can make fluff and peanut butter sandwiches which are called fluffernutters. Do a trying your recipes series where you try viewer recipes. My Favorite Fudge 1 box (453g) light brown sugar 1 piece butter (size of egg yolk - about 1 tablespoon and usually salted butter) 1 can (396g) condensed milk 1 tsp. vanilla Dash of salt Small jar (213g) of marshmallow fluff 1 cup chopped nuts - usually walnuts (optional) Mix brown sugar, butter, condensed milk, vanilla, salt. Bring to a boil & boil 10 minutes stirring constantly. Do not exceed 10 minutes and yes, stir the ENTIRE 10 minutes. This is where if you mess this up then the fudge will never set. Remove from heat and add nuts (optional) & marshmallow fluff (i've added the fluff on the heat and all it does is change the color of the fudge not the flavor and if you microwave it for 30 seconds to a minute it comes out of the jar way better so you can get out nearly all of it). Pour in a pan greased with butter.
