The 1963 Aston Martin DB4 Series V may be one of the most beautiful cars in the world. The exhaust note may convince you if the body doesn't. Let's take a ride in the Bond car and see what 007 was feeling.

Omg this is why I love your channel so much, the diversity of content. Ultra rare Italian cars, supercars, EVs, Unimog, van etc. The color combination is so beautiful! One detail that wouldn't surprise me is, white could show those beautiful lines under less light rather than dark colors during an auto show (only my guess) but this cat being the very car from the show feels special. I mean it survived until 2021. This is why I like cars, for their history too, it's like a piece of history. Thanks for sharing as always!

That being said, I would still remove the can from the trunk, it could roll around and damage the owners manual. Aston Martin actually provided 2 cars for Goldfinger, one as you say was a DB4 Series V which was BMT216A (They kept the real number plate) and this was the car that was built for and shown at Earls court motor show essentially as an advertisement for the coming DB5. Originally it was red and it was seen in an episode of 'The Saint' called 'The Noble Sportsman'. This was the stunt car that was modified to include all the gadgets and later toured the World as the promotional car. The other car provided WAS a production DB5. Externally, the way to tell them apart in the films is that BMT216A had side indicators ahead of the vents.

@@GrandeCapo_PallaPesanteMy apologies, the DB4 was the first of the new DB series made in Newport Pagnell. Touring produced the body tooling for the panels, but the pressings for the aluminium wings, doors etc were made by a company called Dowty Bouton Paul in Wolverhampton in the UK, who made body panels for quite a few high-end cars. @@GrandeCapo_PallaPesante Yes you are correct, the Bond car was a DB5, introduced in Sept 1963 at the Frankfurt Motor Show and by then, was almost entirely indistinguishable from a series 5 DB4 from the outside, apart from the DB5 badge at the base of the front wing. There were internal changes, and of course the engine size was increased from 3.7litre to 4.0litre and the DB5 retained the triple SU's of the Vantage-engined DB4 that it replaced.

Love the video. The car is amazing and nice and original too. The handbrake is called a 'fly-off' brake and the quick release system was a popular fit to sporting cars (or clubmans racecars) such as the early Astons all were. Not so keen on the chromed wires, they are too bling for this period of car and are far better as painted steel rims with chromed spinners in my view.

Thanks for the brake terminology! And this car has a lot of chrome because it was the display car for the Auto Show in 1963 so it got a lot of flashy accents to stand out in the crowd of new metal

The 64 DB5 has got to be one of the most beautiful cars of all time. Or this. They look pretty much/close enough to the same to me.
