You are the best on KZfaq! My question is this- instead of plug welding could you use the technique you once showed us with the tig torch, where you flipped the tungsten and spot welded two pieces of metal? Pros and cons to that. Thanks again.

Yes and no... to use the tig as a spot welder, the material must be clamped together tightly... if it is not, some areas would weld others wouldn't.

You said you use a different seam sealer underneath what ie that brand please ,I'm getting ready to seam seal under my 1964 impala replacement trunk

3Multra tan pro, there are some tricks with reducer that I use to give the seam sealer ultra smooth finish

Awesome job Robert!! I have a 61 and the lower trunk well portion needs to be replaced. Classic industries sells just the trunk well with a lip. Would u advise to just replace the trunk well or do the entire lower trunk portion? The metal around the trunk well is good. Th ank you
