It’s a cabinet from a Marshall style 18 watt I use as a test speaker equipped with a Celestion G12T-75. Nothing special in terms of the speaker and cabinet.

@@bbmade thanks, it's 8 ohm speaker ? So you're running the amp a little hotter with that config, because it should be plugged to a 4 ohms cab. My '64 Bassman blackface head is plugged to a 2x12 4 ohms cab and it's very loud. I can't run full volume without blasting everything around !

@@thisisjtom Yes it is. I had an 8 ohm ballast resistor across the speaker leads to drop the impedance but it’s not the same as a true 4 ohm load. The amp is very loud. I was wearing ear muffs I use for running power tools since I was sitting right next to it. My video production skills are limited especially when capturing audio so I wouldn’t say the video is a 100% perfect representation of the amps sound. It’s fairly close but to my ear the amp sounds better in person if that makes sense.

@@thisisjtom I always thought less impedance would be “hotter” so to speak than higher impedance. If an amp had 16 ohm output but the speaker load was 2 ohm, that would be a problem. Maybe I have that backwards in my mind but, less impedance for the load would draw more current? I swear when I think I have it clear in my head I’m still confused.

@@bbmade I'm still as well dont worry ;) From my experience and what I've read about it, Fender old amps transformers are built like tanks and can handle mismatched cabs. The Bassman is supposed to "see" a 4 ohms cab. With an 8 ohms charge such as your config, what I understand is that you lose some clean headroom and lower the power. The general admitted rule is that you shouldn't go upper than 50% : 4 ohms amp >> 8 ohms cab, 2 >> 4 or 8 >> 16. And never the opposite.
