Not just “done”, but done right. Looks awesome and definitely safer for riding the kiddos around.

Yea even though it’s fun to watch the pavement under the car it’s not so much safe. Lol

I think that once you have a few behind you, it won't be so hard to tackle. I do know that if you don't do a good of job as you could, future family will go why didn't grandpa fix that so it would stand the test of time. Kinda like sheetrocking a house and you get a messed up joint... you say the taper will fix it and they get there and say well good enough, the painter will fix it and then it winds up heavy texture on it and its still kinda weird so the painter will hide it. You can't cover mistakes and they not show up somewhere. Even worse, they gotta really look helpless and bad before they start looking good. All the sudden, it just falls into place and its really nice and you have something to work off of. I have done the patch panels and few of them really fit well. I got one whole floor in on one but most of the others were done in haves or quarters of the floor pan. I usually start at the rear seat area and work towards the firewall. Its hard to have to pull the engine, transmission and sometimes the rear end too before getting them up off the floor that you are working on (I did it in the gravel too) and when the toe board and the firewall falls into place its a lot easier to move forwards. I think that the 64 impala was one of the nicest looking cars ever in old stock and as far as a nice build if you can force yourself through it... the 58 was the heaviest and awkward to do. That was when they started the x frame and the coil springs all the way around. Those cars should of been a one car at a time to build as they are no two alike and the cars are really heavy. The worst part of doing one of these car floors is it always shows when finished if it was a good job or a fair job. Money is absolutely the biggest factor in getting one done. I usually build my own quarter panels and that said... since my injury in 2005, I have never turned a wrench since. I can't stand up straight even with crutches and my legs have atrophied into dead clubs, feet are ugly and I can't take more than one step without crutches. I live in pain twenty four seven. I was just thinking that a good channel to watch as this guy knows what corners you can cut, builds most of the panels or quarters, does the LS swaps an shows how to use the stock wiring to make it run on just two to maybe four wires and the rest goes into the trash or is in a pile to go to for other repairs. Brent at Halfass Kustoms is a very good builder and has made some nice rides/rods and he enjoys teaching. He ain't old either ... that helps as us old guys tend to not think outside the box. I find it sad that some parts of the USA is just terrible for rust. Some rigs from new to scrape is four years and in the mean time, parts of the car like heater motors, air conditioning is on the bunk etc. I seen engines fall out of their cradle and hit the ground in five years from new york and surrounding states ... that great state of florida has some areas that are real bad so North Carolina most likely has some bad stuff on the coast where you live. My ex lives near Apex I'm told. I live in Alaska as that is as far from here as I can get. I better finish this book, your doing real good work from what I can tell. I hope but doubt that you have a CNC machine. That with a few other pieces and build your own car. Take care friend

When I first opened your comment I was thinking oh no what did I do wrong lol. Iam going to give it all I can give it, well as much as funds and skills will allow. I’ll probably do the wheel houses and trunk pan when cooler weather comes back around. I can do the fender lowers and door repairs little by little and not have the car back off the road. I actually do watch halfass a pretty good bit, he for sure has some awesome skills. So sorry to hear that your unable to work on cars and such anymore, I can’t even begin to think how much you miss that. Iam more so on the mountain end of NC, thankfully! Iam no fan of that coast. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and leaving a comment, I’ll have another video ready to post by next Friday. It will have a new upgrade in it that iam pretty excited about. Again thanks for watching!!
