Well to start, I'm truly against air bags on a traditional Lowrider. I came up seeing Lowriders in Cali with hydraulics in the late seventies. For this reason I cringe when I see so called Lowriders with air bags. Hydraulics sound meaner when you have lots of power running to the pumps. To me air bags sound weak. Air bags are a cleaner running system then air bags because when air bags leak they just leak air not any fluid like hydraulics do. With a properly installed system of good quality you shouldn't have any problems as long as you don't abuse the system. I have had my hydraulic system in my 64 for about 8 years with no problems. I don't hop the car because the frame isn't reinforced, just lay and play. The hydraulic system is powered by Black Magic and (8) 31 series batteries. I installed everything on the car. The rims fit perfectly without any adapters. The skirts do need to be trimmed so that the will not rub on the rims. I have to have the skirts cause I wouldn't ride any other way. Attached is another link so that you can see the engine compartment and interior. Engine compartment has been updated with other chrome since this video was taken but that what I have out for now. Cops don't really mess with you if your not using your system wildly on the road. These old Chevy's are getting expensive now and cost a lot of money to build. Times have changed and I don't think anyone will be doing a drive by shootings on a chevy that costs and is worth so much money to build. if your system is not leaking and your batteries are secured down the cops pretty much leave you alone if they were to pull you over.
