1964 Massey Ferguson 25 (MF825) Part 1

Hi all
I recently purchased this MF25 to add to that collection. It needed a fair bit of engine work to make it reliable once again
It is in completely original condition even down to the headlights and decals and even the tyres

Found this because i got a MF25 for free from an 81 year agriculture teacher , engine and drivetrain ok but a bit patina on the hood and fenders.. a keeper at my tiny farm

Very nice, I have a '51' TED20 Ferguson while my dad has a '64' B414 International, his number plate starts with YHH too and ends with B. very cool

25 is an awesome tractor. I have a Massey 25 and my son also has one in upstate New York. I'm restoring my one right now. It's impossible to find parts here in the states for them, I spent the last 15 years trying to find the hood emblem Which is the same as the 825 tractor, unfortunately no luck. I posted a picture of mine on yesterday's tractors about 20 years ago. Keep up the good work love video.

Can you tell me please does the massey ferguson 25 give a lot of trouble. that's what I have heard Is it true

@@annamaydonegan1708 I don't think I've had any major problems. Just like any other piece of farm equipment, if they're properly maintained there's little tractors last forever. they do smoke quite a bit I think it's the low compression it doesn't burn the fuel as efficiently, So that that was mean they are little hard to start but they do start just fine in the cold weather if you use the glow plug in the air intake. I do think the brakes could have been designed a little better but if you are experienced with tractors You already know brakes on a tractor are not for stopping the tractor they're for holding it while you change gears etc.

Hi, we have a 25 and we've been looking for a hydraulic fluid level dipstick. We can't remember the last time we replaced this fluid, Is there a hydraulic fluid dipstick on the 25?! Great video, and great little tractors.

There is a level plug below the top link bracket at the back of the gearbox

Growing up in the mid 60s a neighbor had one of those think it was about 25 or 30 hp quiet handy I use to prefer it to our 35x massey some one ask about the hydraulic pump on this tractor is supposed to be a rotary type those on the later tractors are piston type don't think it would fit

Hey man how are you, I got a 1963 massey 25 and I'm wondering if you know if a hydraulic pump out of a massey 130 would work. Love your massey 25 and glad to see someone go through the tractor, cheers from USA

The gearbox and hydraulic system in the 25 are identical to the 130. And both the hydraulic pump in my 25 and 130 are identical
