Designed to compete in the 1964 two-liter Grand Touring Championship, the 904 was available in road or race car versions. Homologation regulations for its racing class required the production of a minimum of 100 road-going versions. This car, serial number 046, was originally a street-legal version, and still is, but can be converted to a race car by removing the road equipment and tuning the engine.

In the early ‘70s, people at Brumos in Jacksonville told me of a doctor who made house calls in his 904. Mr. Collier, we talked at Sebring in 1992 and you told me your dad was a better race driver than you were.
