Fyfe Robertson reported from Libya on Miss Olive Brittan, a British woman who looked after the royal Cyrenaican bees of the King of Libya.
King Idris employed Miss Brittan as Royal Beekeeper to introduce modern methods to his country after the Second World War.

I love these films about these wonderful, forgotten people. A film should have been made about her time in Libya, perfect for Dames Maggie or Judi.

she said she makes about 500 quid in a year from the honey. that's equivalent in todays money of just under £5K.
