Here's a testimony to what this man's doing. My all-time favorite truck 1968 CST and I prefer a long bed. Leaving any other details behind. Now I need the guy had butchered this truck but I still drove like 6 hours each way maybe more to look at it. Had a plan b that if I didn't get the truck then I wouldn't come back empty. What this guy had was a 68 CST 327 Chevy truck with power brakes and steering. What I had in high school. Well that's where the barn with. The guy got from was like 70 years old and built cars. That's what the story was and but he didn't do this one right. The fleet side bed was cut down and it looked like it was right. But who could tell when you get underneath the frame he had cut it in the wrong place. And had to cut the trailing arms. He then simply overlap the trailing arms about 8 in and weld them together side by side! They replacement engine was not even a 350. It was an old used 305. Now what the guy had I guess three grand was not a bad price. But kind of figured that it was just wait for something better to come along. Now I've never even cut down a frame to make a short bed pick up. Cousin 8-ft bed I'm okay with. But I've seen guys use this kit. Those trucks are on the road right now. So if it's worth doing. Then it's worth doing right. Watch this man's video and figure out if you want to buy the cut and weld kit. I would. I'm just a guy that tinkers on these things since the early 80s. I greatly appreciate these episodes for both entertainment and informational values.

Man, I'm really interested in your cab repair. I'm in the beginning of my 62 C10 Cab and it is pretty rusty. I bought every available panel, but I'll have to fabricate quite a bit myself. Nobody sells A pillar panels! Wish me luck, lol.

I am so glad you took a minute to speak to the whole artificial "we have to get it done in 10 minutes!" nonsense. I always want to throw my wrench at the monitor when I hear that BS. If you find yourself rushing thru everything, cutting corners, saying "good unuf", you'll end up with a sub-par, shoddy result that will be on display and that you will not be proud of. Give yourself the time or pursue an alternative path.

I'm a little disappointed in this video. You didn't let Dave drop the F-bombs about his aching back like the last video. Just kidding though. Great video.
