Description Part of the fourth generation of the popular Ford F-Series, the 1965 Custom Cab Styleside Pickup touts 1129-inch wheelbase, an 8-foot bed, and Ford’s revolutionary Twin I-Beam suspension. This new feature, which provided an independent axle for each front wheel, was designed to allow greater control and smoother driving over rough roads.
Moebius Models’ precision-tooled styrene model kit of the 1965 Custom Cab Styleside Pickup features a full interior, detailed chassis and 352 CID V-8 engine. The completed model measures 7 3/4 inches long and includes chrome-plated and clear parts, soft PVC tires, decal sheet and detailed instructions. Features
Authentic Ford 352 CID EngineDetailed Chassis with Twin I-Bean SuspensionStock Chrome WheelsAccurate Body Styling
The fourth generation of the Ford F-Series is a line of pickup trucks and commercial trucks that were produced by Ford from October 1960 to August 1966. Sleeker and wider than its predecessor, the new F-Series introduced several firsts to the truck line. In Canada, the F-Series continued to be distributed by Mercury dealers as the M-Series.
Along with the traditional separate Flareside beds, Ford introduced unibody trucks. These were originally named as the "integrated pickup" and consisted of the cab and the bed into one continuous piece, with no gap between them.[3] The design required fewer stampings, such as the back of the cab served as the leading edge of the bed, less complicated assembly, such as the single-wall bed sides were spot-welded directly to the door sills, and the body had a less complicated path through the assembly plant's paint shop.[3] This achieved cost savings in the manufacture of the truck, but the one-piece cab and bed body was still mounted to a traditional ladder frame chassis.[3] Only two-wheel-drive F-100 and F-250 models used this one-piece construction--four-wheel-drive models and all F-350s, as well as all models with Flareside beds, continued to use separate cabs and beds. Styleside beds were carried over from the 1957-60 models.1962-1964[edit]Due to poor market reception, and rumors that overloading caused the doors to jam shut, the unibody trucks were dropped midway through the 1963 model year. The 1963-64 models have the turn signals in the grill. 1964 models received an all-new Styleside bed with more modern styling.1965-1966[edit]In October 1964, the 1965 F-Series introduced an all-new frame, which would be used on the F-Series through 1979. The body itself remained largely unchanged, but on 1965 and 1966 models the turn signals are above the headlights. Replacing the rudimentary straight-axle in the front was all-new independent "Twin I-Beam" suspension with coil springs on two-wheel-drive trucks.[4] The 1965 and 1966 F-Series trucks are distinguished with a "TWIN I-BEAM" emblem on the front fender. A 4-door crew cab was also introduced on F-250 and F-350 models. The 240 cu in (3.9 L) and 300 cu in (4.9 L) straight six was introduced. With the introduction of the 208 hp (155 kW; 211 PS) 352 cu in (5.8 L) FE V8, output surpassed 200 hp in the F-Series for the first time.

I bought a 1970 F-100 about ten years ago for £75 from the salvage yard. It took me £120 to get it to drive and I drove it five years. I sold it for £2000. It was the best investment I have ever made and miss it.

Anybody who does the kind of work you do on your models is serious about it. But you also make it quite clear that you're having fun as well. If you're not having fun at a hobby, why do it? BTW, that's a great representation of a vehicle that seen a lot of work and a lot of winter.

I’ve looked all over for the 1966 short bed version of this vehicle and the only one I could find for sale was on eBay for $75. So I’m doing what I can to turn my 65’ into a 66’ so I can model it after my late father-in-law’s truck.

I used to build models as a kid back in the late 70's and early 80's. Fast forward 40 years and I've found a new love and respect for the hobby that kept me occupied for so many hours as a kid. Just happened to stumble upon your KZfaq channel and watched this one. Your videos are an inspiration to a generation that I though was long forgotten about. The finished truck wreaks of nostalgia and childhood memories!! LOVE IT!!! I have subscribed and can't wait to see more. I am getting back into this with much more detail than i could as a kid!

Actually....just kidding lol! I can see this as an actual road truck. Great, great job! My first car, a '77 Monte Carlo had snow tires on the back. I put a pair of Dunlop GT Qualifer 60s on that bad boy all around! The metal wear looks amazing, if that old timer is not careful, he is about to enter a world of fender rot. When I first saw the floor of the interior finished, I thought you went for a work truck floor, plastic/rubber. Carpet worn down works too. Thanks for the incredible builds.

That's a great touch with the front tires! Those I beam front ends didn't go wonky very often, but when they did a standard alignment place couldn't do em,cuz you had to have a special jig to heat and bend the actual I beam to straighten them out. Was a pain in the butt finding a shop to do it. We had a heavy truck place about 30 miles away and they could xdo light trucks also.

Very nice. Love the cab rust. Just seeing it gives me the same ‘what am I going to do with the rust’ anxiety as my old ‘73 Ford back in high school did. All I would have added here would be some old invoices and coffee cups on the dash. I’ve no idea how I’d do that but maybe I’ll give that some thought.

As always great build 👍. My idea exactly rust up all the spare parts and throw them in the bed like hes making a scrap run. Great work on the weathering.
