I really love your line... “it’s not about... blood pressure.” You’re an old soul, and I mean that as the highest possible compliment.

My 15 year old son just bought a 65’ 289 HiPo from my parent’s neighbors. They loved him helping them out around their property voluntarily all of the last 3 summers that they handed it to him at a really decent price. They knew he is a huge classic Mustang fan and said they would be proud to see a kid like him have it knowing he will take good care of it. Proud momma here 😊

Hey, very charming and low key vid. Always nice to have a friend with the first gen Mustang. Cool. I had a 66 6 cyl, 3 speed, same as this. Bought for $600 in 1971, sold for $600 in 1973. I think it had 80,000 miles. No AC, no power accessories, the lowest base model, but now I wish I had it back, except in the summer, too dang hot with a dark green exterior and black sticky vinyl interior. What a blast. One thing to note carefully, in a crash these are a deathtrap, and since the bucket seats have no latch, those lap belts are just gonna kill you even more dead. Drive very very safe in this old Mustang. It averaged 21 mpg on delicious leaded low octane fuel. The carburetor looked like it was from the 1940s. I'll check out your other videos. 🙂

I have owned many V8 cars, I had more fun working on my 66 straight 6 mustang , more than any other car I have owned .. plus older people love it & it gets way more attention when I open the hood ..

It’s funny you say that, because my 65 is 200ci straight 6 3spd and when I first got it, part of my resto was going to be a 302 swap, but as I was restoring I’ve fallen in love with the 6, it’s a timeless engine and so strong, coupled with the 3spd is just incredibly fun to drive

currently restoring my dad's old 65. Ours is also mid 200,000s. My end goal is to have almost this exact car once completed. It will be automatic though as that was original.

Seriously enjoyed this review, you nailed it - the 1st Gen Mustangs were all about "fun". Your mate Max has some seriously good taste! These 'Stangs will never date - they look as fresh today as 1964(1/2). I've got a '66 Convertible down here in OZ, we are insane for them.

Yes! The first generation Mustangs were the best looking! Wish I still had mine that I owned during the mid 80s.

Bro, I didn't think I would like the review, but I actually loved it lol I've been looking to get one of these coupes, it's my mom's dream car, and I wanted to get familiar with it and know what I'm going to deal with if I restore one. Thx very much for the short yet informative video

Very nice car because most parts are still original especially the engine. Keep it as period correct and original as possible. Thanks for sharing.

If you ever get a chance, review something with the Dodge Slant Six, they were good inline 6 cylinders too.

good_vibess_1 i don’t know where you are from or how old you are but if you are young, stay away from classics as you start out. My dad always said to have one reliable daily driver that you wouldn’t be too upset about damaging, and one hot rod or fun car (at least 1, that is).

Depending on how old and confident you are in your mechanical abilities! I’m 21 and daily drive a 66 with a 289. Me personally, I rebuilt the car myself so whatever brakes I’m confident I can fix. If you arnt Absoutley positive you can fix most things by yourself I wouldn’t recommend starting out with one of these cause they are anything but reliable😂
