Joel goes for a spin in everyone's favorite Firebird: our 1965 Gibson Firebird VII in Polaris White that is! Take a listen to this rare bird in action!
This 1965 Gibson Firebird VII is mythical and legendary. It almost feels like you’re holding the Loch Ness Monster in your hands when you first pick it up. Mythos aside, this guitar is totally stunning, and extremely rare. It’s in good shape for its age, but has plenty of wear throughout the body in the form of dents, play wear and gorgeous checking lines. The top of the body has two large dents in the finish, one on the bass side horn and the other just below the volume knob, There is a small dent in the tail piece. There are several small marks of edgewear along the body. The back has checking lines and some light buckle rash but is looking good. The back plate doesn’t fit the cavity with exact precision. The neck has some light damage to the finish near the 12th fret, and is adorned with plenty of checking lines. The headstock has some edgewear but has no breaks and looks stellar. This rare bird confirms the saying that legends never die!

I’m a proud owner of a Gibson non reverse firebird today and it sounds incredible. Sounds awesome through my VOX or my blues junior. Great and uncommon rig but it sounds comparable to the tones displayed here. And some people think they’re uncomfortable guitars but I think it’s the most comfortable I’ve ever played. To each their own I guess. But it was my dream guitar ever since watching this video. Mines Ferrari red w/ 2 pickups tho👌. Thanks for the inspiration anyways. P.s. I’m mad jealous of whomever owns this white beauty today.

I've been doing this a while. Also, any time you hear a loop in my demos it's a song idea for my band, The Band Royale (.com). This one is as well, and the single comes out on Valentines Day.

It's white, which is a custom color. Which makes it worth twice as much as a standard sunburst 'Bird. We don't make up the prices-- just use the Vintage Guitar Price Guide. Is it twice the guitar? Of course not. But that's irrelevant when we're talking about supply and demand.

I had a 66 Firebird V for twenty years. Never kept in tune nothing special about the pickups. I tried everything and I was second owner and traded it for a 65 Jazzmaster CAR. So much better than the Gibson!

just dont understand what is bright about this guitar .... its sounds about right amount of bright to me , heard some paf reissues that sound brighter to me ... killer sound , although i highly suspect that tremolo is a nightmare

Really cool demo. I'm probably hyperventilating about nothing, but it makes me cringe every time he puts his arm on top of the neck and put weight downward on it. Guess I've seen far too many neck breaks on these old Gibsons…

It's the gravitational resistance acting on the notes, it takes them longer to fall out of the reverse 'cos of the extra wood. True story.

Blame the collectors that have pushed the price of custom color vintage guitars up so high. If people weren't willing to pay so much we wouldn't have to ask so much. A sunburst VII would be half the money.
