Sir, you talk well about the gallantry of the Pakistan Army during the 1965 war. You talk about the unity of the nation and the army. Wonderful. Please do mention the gallantry efforts of Major General Akhtar Hussain Malik during the war. His efforts were rudely curtailed by President Ayub who replaced him by Gen Yahya, out of nowhere, for reasons known to many of us but find it embarrassing. This incident clearly demonstrates Pakistan is NOT united even within the ranks of the country's security echelon and we threw away the advantage because of culpable hatred for one another. Sadly the same pattern has repeated over the decades in Pakistan's history with the emergence of the present "Imported Government" planted by the same people (now known as "neutrals") out of nowhere as being a current example.

I was in Faisalabad in 1965 and watched long line of trucks full of soldiers leaving for border and people were tossing food bags towards soldiers along the Satyana road.
