Brigadier ( then Major ) Siddiq Salik's Book "Witness to Surrender" also gives examples of these heroic deeds. The following sentence I read as a University student in the Times still remains "engrained in my mind (memory)" The battle of Jamalpur - The Pakistani Colonel attacked that night with five waves of 100 each charging head on at a dug in Indian battalion ....... If only General Hamid had not stopped sending some extra men via the long route so badly required before the start of actual fighting the result would have been different. The Generals Rao Farman Ali and Jamshed left Dacca undefended which resulted in Tiger A.A.K Niazi cave in to the demands of General Jacobs. Keep up the good work for the younger generation. Thanks

An Indian army personnel himself admitted in BBC documentary on 1971 that Pakistan's army fought bravely sometimes like fanatics. He thought that they were committing suicide but we know Insha Allah they are in Jannah.

Sir g , army was ruling the since 1958, they lacked vision which led to humiliating defeat. Bengalis were up for separation, rulers must ve realised that. Jazak Allah for revitalising our emotions by narrating war diaries of our brave soldiers. East Pakistan must ve been given separate status from beginning.

Very impressive talk about bravery of Col Sultan Mahmood Raja. Col Sultan's village is 8 Kilometer away from village of Gen Akhtar Malik, the legendaty hero of 1965 War. Col Raja upheld the chivalrous tradition of Thana Chauntra , Teh & Distt Rawalpindi and laid his life by fighting like a brave soldier. He is a source of inspiration for yougsters of his area as well as the whole Army.

My brother Mahmud Ansari, who served at lahore front in 71, had one of his best friends shaheed at battle of Hili East Pakistan. His name was Lietanant Arjumand Yaarkhund, a really brave Lion of Pakistan Army. Two more of his coursemates embraced Shahdat in Shakargarh Narowaal battle, Lietanant Zafar Akbar and Pervaiz Aslam. May Allah elevate all Shaheeds ranks aameen.

There is another story told by FM Maniksha, The Indian Army Chief who actually fought the 71 war and won. FM Maniksha, The Most Relevant and Authentic Source for 71 Episode, in his interview to Karan Thapar at BBC disclosed followings: 1. The Pak Army, in E/Pak, Fought Very Gallantly. But they had no chance. 2. They were Thousand Miles away from their base. 3. I had 8 or 9 months to make my preparations. 4. I almost had a superiority of almost 50 (or 15 due sound issue) to 1. They just had no chance. But they Fought Very Gallantly. 5. And for the first 5 days India was losing (Despite all odds). Ironically FM Maniksha, the most informed person of E/Pak, in his 23 minutes of interview at BBC, not even mentioned a single atrocity by E/Pak Army. On the contrary, he praised E/Pak Army. Tareef woh jo dushman karey. Defending E/Pak for 13 days by E/Pak Army in these circumstances, is nothing less than a Miracle of the Modern Times.

سر آپ زندہ باد پاکستان پائندہ باد ہمارے وطن کا ہر سپاہی اپنی ذات میں ایک پوری فوج ھے ۔ اور وطن کے لئے جان دینے کو 100 زندگی سے بھی بہتر سمجھتا ھے ۔ ہمارے والد صاحب نے 65 اور 71 دونوں معرکوں میں وطن کا بھرپور دفاع کیا ۔ 18 پنجاب سے بحیثیت میجر ریٹائرڈ ہوئے ۔ اور 2004 میں اپنے خالق کے حضور حاضر ہوئے ۔ ہمیشہ 16 دسمبر کو روزہ رکھتے تھے اور پورا دن کسی سے کوئی بات نہیں کرتے تھے ۔ ہمیشہ اس بات پر افسوس کرتے تھے کہ یہ جان وطن کے کام نہ آسکی۔ اب بھی میرے خاندان سے درجن بھر افراد آرمی میں ملک کے لئے جان حاضر کئے ہوئے ہیں ۔

It was complete failure of our civilian nd defence policies , strategy in 71. War. Gen Shaib Zada Yaqoob the than Governor of East Pakistan had clearly told the Drunked Yaya khan not to go for any military action but to remain president the military action was launched. The result is before us. Individuals bravery is buried under defeat.

Sir, I respect you from my heart and my dad was in the PAF .but main cause of the fall of Dhaka is weakness in defense . Only 6 F6 were stationed to protect East Pakistan. That is a shame .plus Ayub Khan is main cause of EAST PAKISTAN SEPRATION .
