1966 VW Beetle Restoration: More TearDown!

Welcome back to my channel where I'm continuing the process of dismantling my 1966 VW Beetle. In this video, I'll continue the teardown, removing the doors and seats, however the footage of removing the headliner and rear fenders was lost! I'll be focusing on removing the remaining parts such as the doors, seats, rear fenders, and rear bumper.
It appears that the car was hit in the nose at some point, debating on straightening it or replacing the whole beak.

Thanks! Hard to find music that isn’t you usual social media electronica! Some of my older vids have that but my son was editing them. I’ll have more up here soon, so much snow in the Northwest!

@@medicocreguitarist4206 Wish I could share more rockabilly from the early 50’s and 60’s, but copyright and all that. All those bands need to be heard and appreciated! I grew up on The Cramps in the 80’s and they took me way back!

@@thebeardsgarage Brian Setzer and the Stray Cats at the New Sooner Theater in 1982. That was my rockabilly start! Whenever I want to speed up my picking hand I turn to rockabilly or surf music. It goes great with working in the garage too.

Beard, I just picked up a 1966 Bahama Blue Beetle that is 99% complete, straight, and original here in Northern California. It's an original California car, but it has been sitting outdoors for over 30 years. There is rust rot on the passenger lower door pillar and rear bumper brackets. Floor pans and possibly heater channels will need to be replaced. I was considering selling as I was feeling that the restoration might be over my head, but you may have just inspired me to tackle this project.

That’s awesome! And a great color. I’m lucky with this car, it’s pretty solid for sitting in a backyard here in Oregon for years. I’ll be doing the lower quarter panel this week and getting the body off as soon as I get my Rabbit out of the way! It’s a great car to learn on and there’s plenty of parts out there!
