America's only true sports car, this must surely be one of the best examples of the C3 out there. Fabulous color combination. Owner Dominic Rossi could, I'm sure, talk for several hours about Corvettes without having to catch his breath...

Hi Lou Great video! Love the 69's! I own basically the same car. Mine is triple black convertible, with a hard top too. Same 427/400, 4 speed. I purchased her in 1988. There's nothing like the sound of a early big block Vetted with side pipes...music to the ear ! Please keep the awesome videos coming

Wow. '69 is such a great year for Corvette. This one must be very valuable considering the year, the convertible top, the 427, the immaculate condition and the factory stock originality. Love the silver paint on black interior. The classic original wheels and tires finish it off and lift all doubt this one is a money shot. I like those huge gauges. The center console actually gave me goosebumps; such an awesome layout. It's like someone designed it straight out of my childhood's imagination. I'm a Datsun Z nut, but this is very easy to fall in love with. Spectacular car! Congratulations sir!

There isn't a guy alive who doesn't dream of owning that Vette...Even better yet, having a beautiful garage/man cave to enjoy it in....I keep seeing early big blocks with that crazy emissions air pump on them, didn't think those were used until the mid 70s...Oh well, good to learn something. I totally understand the owner's sentiments about the headlights....Such a minor detail can surely be a pain to get right for sure....

Add just a small squirt of W-D 40 in the vacuum hose popping the rubber hose off and squirting it in the hose next to the light canister. Keeps the rubber softer. I do it once a year on my 1980 with almost five thousand miles on odometer. Change my oil every six months. Quaker State 30 weight. Using factory GM oil filters. Add Lucas to gas tank every fill up. Keeps from the lifters from sticking. SEMPER FIDELIS

I had several 69's-74-76 and never even in the winter had I had any problems with the head lights, you forgot to mention in 68-70 the headlights had washer jets, also had 69-72 had the windshield wiper door that was vacuum operated. The coupes had in 68-69 removable back windows. The 68-69 had heavy duty triangulated frame cross members in the frames they were removed to save weight, the 68-69 frames were the best road racing frames for gymkhana, because of this the stingrays also had fast ratio steering adjustments on the steering arm there was two holes drilled in the arms from the factory. One I remember was 2.5 turns lock to lock and the other was for 2. Turns lock to lock generally used for manual steering.

Those vacuum headlight covers seem to be a problem for most people in terms of getting them to work properly. It seems basing them off the vehicle's vacuum system wasn't such a great idea and maybe should have utilized another type of actuator to toggle these covers. Can't tell you how many different models of vehicles that used this system and all of them are 'iffy' as to whether or not they will work properly at any given moment! Beautiful car though :>)

In my opinion any corvette stingray after 1971 degraded into a mere shadow of what they where in the early bubble fender stingray series. The 427 ZL1or L-88 aluminum head later the LS6 any of them with the Holly Dominator 1050-1350 Frankenstein Carburetor or Crowley Mechanical Fuel Injected engines were the hottest setups compleat with magneto. The factory 390-400 hp 427 Tri powers or those with 850 holly double pumpers were considered limp dick setups. No LS-7 never made it in a production Corvette that I know of, but I've seen them planted in some Vettes, they were known to have weak cranks in the early version of this engine it still hammered well at the drags.
