in 1989, I stopped by Corvette World, Noticing a light blue 70's Stingray, $6000. I took it for a test drive, the moment i sat behind the wheel, i was sold for life. age 19, bought a 76 Stingray Corvette. I have driven every generation since, except the C8. There is nothing like sitting behind the wheel in that car. too this day, its still my favorite. I laughed when you called it dangerous, twice in a row. I tended to drive it very fast

I really agree with him, the c6 and c7 look a lot more generic and lose the allure of the shape of an authentic corvette.They just try to blend in not be a real corvette. C3,C4 and C5 are the best looking vettes on that order.

I've owned a C6, and truly enjoyed it. Once you get into a Corvette, it's like joining a family. Save the wave!

I used to have a 1980 Vette. Yes, it was Malaise Era, but the drug dealers who owned it before me took care of that. They got rid of all of the smog controls, bored out the 350 engine to 383, replaced the automatic transmission with a Muncie 4 speed, and made a ton of other changes. It put out about 400 HP. Of course, what Hoovie says about being slow enough to let you run through the gears and not be going fast enough to put you in jail didn’t apply. You had to shift from 1st to 2nd at 55 mph. Third? Damned if I know. It still had the malaise era 85mph speedometer. And of course it was beautiful. Mine was red with a white interior. Damn, I miss that car.

I think the C7 vettes have taken a step in the right direction and they blend the iconic design and joy of driving with the spirit of a true sports car, that the very early vettes set out to accomplish. The design of the C3 was easy on the eyes and had a nice geometry and the engine note was impressive. The fiber glass body was a death trap and cracked as it aged, however. The new Corvettes have improved safety standards and advanced engineering with unsurpassed performance specs, from previous generations. All in all, it finally comes down to personal taste and affordability, in the final decision, in choosing the right Corvette. .

OMG! I love this video. This guy could not have expressed by thoughts any better. I've owned only 2 Corvettes in my life. The first was a 1973 454 Roadster which I drove for 40-years. After health forced me into an automatic I moved to an 82 Collectors which isn't even 25% if what my '73 was but it's still a C3 and recognizable as a Corvette even by todays kids. Long live the C3 Corvette!

I have always loved the Corvette from the first time I saw one a 57 at Stead AFB in Reno Nevada in 1960 where my dad was stattioned at. From seeing that iconic 63 Split window in black and white Chevy commercials which ran the new for 63 Chevy lineup from the Impala to the nova, the corvair and the flagship the newly revamped corvette. These commercials ran right before My Three Sons. I have owned a 57 dual quad vette , a 2007 Z06, and I have owned my 63 Coupe since I bought her in 1988. The newer C-6 models braked and handled and out performed all of the C-1's C-2"s and C3's. The Corvette was an undesirable car from 74 until the C-5 was introduced. It was nice pulling 1800 on the tach in 6th gear rolling at 95 m,ph. and getting 28m.p.g. from a scorching 505 h.p. engine. I do agree that the C1's through the C-3's up until 72 were the best looking vettes compared to the C6 and C7.s

I completely agree with you on all of that. The C1-C4 just have so much more character than the C5+. And it's just going to become more generic now; the next gen will be mid-engined.

C3's are my favorite Vette! I just wish California never got their dick in the door and ruined the late gen ones with the severely under-powered engines :(

Purchased a ‘69 427-435 HP 4spd. Coupe back in 1971 2 years old with only 11k miles on it. What a car. Unbelievable power w/ 3 deuces. Only thing I didn’t like about the car back then was that it rode as hard as a rock. GM improved the ride in the 1973 Model swapping out the metal body mounts for rubber mounts and added radial tires. What a difference.
