1969 Buick Skylark project, episode #3. First bath since about 1986, what a difference.

The title is pretty self explanatory but in this episode I fired up the old 350 and pulled her out for a bath. Some idiot chose to do this on a windy 35 degree day :( Wow my hands were cold.
I've got to get those brakes fixed.

69 was a great year for cars in America, so much better than the cars of today. They took great pride in making them. Great video as always.

Not by choice. One of my customers wound up getting covid real bad and kinda hung me out to dry on a 7,000 dollar unpaid bill. That was going to be the money for my magnetic drill and some other parts. He is getting better and paid a portion of his bill a couple days ago. This coming Wednesday will be a cabover video. Thanks for watching my friend.

That red under the vinyl was probably the original color? That’ll look nice if you paint it all that color. Look different I think it’ll stand out cause it’s just a shade different. Cleaned up nice tho!

Your correct. I probably will paint it that color. Would look good with a new white vinyl top.

Have you pulled off the valve covers to see if you have a stuck valve.?

Not yet, I’ve purchased some new lifter, intake gasket and valve cover gaskets. It runs real strong so i think it just has one or two collapsed or stuck lifters. I also got a good set of used tires for it, should be back on the road in the coming months.

@@BrokenWrenches ty, I will ck it out. I have watched 4 I think on the red 1. Very nice ride. My 68 I had in high school I could do 70 in low and when I shifted to high it was like getting launched. I should have kept that car.

It does have some weight reduction on the floors for sure. Gotta get better shoes or put brakes on her.

I think for now I'm going to keep her in the shop. The video coming out this week shows the bare floors after tearing out the carpet. This weekend I'm going through the brakes.
