Take a look at Paul Schreck's nicely restored 1969 GT 390 Mustang Sportsroof in Winter Blue. Paul took this garage find and hauled it out of Inglewood California where is still resided with the original owners family. It had been decades since this fine and rare FE powered Mustang had seen the streets. This nicely optioned and rare GT was ordered with some great options including that 320 HP 390 FE powerplant backed by a Toploader 4 speed and 9 inch rear end with traction lock. The car also came with power disc brakes, power steering, sport deck rear seat( fold down) and the coveted in dash tachometer. Paul even upgraded the air cleaner set up to feed cold air to the carb via a factory ram air system found on 68 cobra jets and 69 cougars and torino's. Not a shaker set up but the vacuum operated flapper works perfectly and looks factory stock.
Paul has spent painstaking time and money to complete this project. He has done nearly all of the work himself over the past 8 years and this Mustang is once again a proud steed. The GT package gives the car many of the appearance upgrades popular at the time including hood pins, hood scoop with turn indicators, quad tip dual exit exhaust, side racing stripes, pop open gas cap, styled steel wheels with GT centers, quick ratio steering and handling package. All of that for just $147 extra bucks in '69. This also marked the last year the 390 would appear in the Mustang as it was dropped in 1970. Paul has much to be proud of in restoring , showing and enjoying this finely restored Mustang.
