This 1970 AAR cuda was wreaked drag racing in the 1970 shortly after the engine transmission rear end and other parts where striped off the car and left for dead in the woods for 50 plus years the drive line was put in a pickup in the 1970s so who knows where they are now hopefully we can find the original drive line so we can have a numbers matching restoration this will more than likely be a long process it may take a few months to get all the parts and this car back on the road

My brother and I just started restoring a 1971 Maverick Grabber in about the same condition as yours. Our Maverick had 43000 original miles on it. The car was bought and made in to a drag car with the original 302 engine. It was rolled a couple of times and had many parts stolen out of it that were still good. The Maverick laid in the wood ever sense 1977 until 2023.

I went through the same thing with my 69 yenko nova big block car. It had rolled off the roof of a parking garage in 71 and the owner let it sit for years until I seen it and asked if I could buy it. I rebuilt it in 86. Long before the internet so I had to search for the parts and drive many miles to get pieces, I used all new parts. Not a single used piece went on it , I guess that's why it still wins at car shows all the time, I wouldn't trade it for 2 of anything , I drive it every day and lay rubber in all 4 gears. I brought it back to life and keep it alive and it truly keeps me alive also , every time I jam a gear and dump the clutch and smoke rolls outta both rear fender wells I laugh like a crazy person cause it makes me feel 16 every time, the 427 still purrs like a kitten

My junior year of HS, I bought my first MOPAR, a 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger 340 Magnum. Upon graduation, I had a buddy selling his 1970 R/T Dodge Challenger 383. I sold my Dart and bought the Challenger. I have to say, the Challenger was my dream car and I actually owned one and only 19 years old. Then the friend I bought my Challenger from brought a guy over that wanted a Challenger and had a 1971 Plymouth Roadrunner 440 magnum. I really like the Roadrunner as well and we did a straight across trade. Well, I got divorced my senior year of college and I joined the Navy. Left my car at home while doing basic and BEEP. Came home and found out that my ex had sold my car. I do not, to this day, know how she managed that. Now I can’t even find one to buy…want to do a light restoration myself but, you are fortunate in getting this car…even in it’s current state and whomever destroyed this car, needs to be beaten within 1” of his or her life. They have no respect for something that is! Shooting a MOPAR muscle car…f*ck that! 😡 will be watching the videos to see the end product. 🤙🤙🤙

Its what you do when you want a car you can't afford in good shape, or when its a rare one that met an early demise. That Cuda makes my 65 GTO before the rebuild, and the 69 GTO right now look good. The 68 Firebird wasn't rolled, but its almost that bad, I can save the roof and a few other parts. I'll be watching this one, since I have a 73 Cuda cloned into a 70 AAR. Well, I guess since the car pre-dates safety, you don't really need ear and eye protective equipment now, do ya? LOL OH, I found your rat at 5:20 running under the driver's door frame.

Wow, at the start of the video that was looking to be a daunting and very ambitious project, but you have broken (literally) the steps down into manageable tasks and actually welding in new metal shows that the car can be repaired, looking forward to seeing progress, well done! At 5.15, rat is visible in the bulkhead moving, at 5.20 jumped down onto floor, where did he go? Hopefully, cleared off and did not take up residence in the garage...! Greetings from the UK!

I thought my 1960 cj5 was rough. Seeing you rebuilding this reinforces my belief I can restore my CJ. Just takes time.

In the UK we would call this Trigger's Broom. Triggers had the same broom for 20 years, it's had 17 new heads and 14 new handles. 11/10 for vision!

This is awesome! So glad you're saving it. Reminds me of the Chris Birdsong feller restoring Chargers and whatnot. Looks like you're really making a silk purse out of her there.

This '70 AAR Cuda will be something once you are done bringing it back to life! It's a damn shame you found your car in the shape it was in. I can't wait for your next video to see how far along you have progressed with your Cuda. Thanks for posting your video too!
