If you want to protect this car and be definitively efficient against rust , you should put grease everywhere. grease is the only thing very efficient against rust. put grease between metal and carpet, inside door, behind metallic bumper, under the vehicle, behind the repairs you can make (everywhere inside the body - hidden erea - instead of using paint), hollow areas (necessarily hidden, so no need to be aesthetic). For rear wings unreachable with a paintbrush, use an extender and pour old oil everywhere each year. Rust almost always comes from the inside and welds. Handyman Experience - 35 years. From france

Some of these aftermarket doors/panels really fit bad.

that is true. i have found the fenders fit the worst. not much trouble with the doors. and had a few quarters not fit 100%

Amazing you can get body panels for this old car but they have major problems with new vehicles.

Yeah I have to add a little to the doors to get the gaps perfect.

You mentioned at 11:00 you are going to screw it down to move it over. Could you please go into a bit more depth. I am having the same issues with my chevelle. The quarter panel wants to get tight at the end of the trunk pan.

The tail panel goes up under the quarter and we just needed to screw it in to open the gap. Sometimes you do have to cut the quarter or trim the trunk lid to get the gap right.

Weld through primer. Sometimes it's grey also. It's supposed to protect what is welded.

Would it be more cost effective to just buy a full body from dynacorn? Only reason I ask is cause I’m debating that route

Not sure how good they are. I have done Camaro bodyshells and had to do a ton of cutting to make the mouldings fit

is there a reason you do your doors and quarters before the floors? Im doing a 72 and started with the floors and will work my way out. Great work!

No reason why I did it that way first. Sometimes I do floors first. Like I did on the newest video. The 69 Chevelle.
