I bought mine in Dec. of 1969. Mach I, Four barrel, 351 Cleveland with an automatic transmission. My first new car. I was twenty y/o. I've subscribed to see where you go with this one. My car didn't have the rear window slats. Most guys complained that they rattled and you couldn't see to back up, so I never put them on. They were cool looking, though.

The rims on the car are a original option steel rallye wheel that were available on a mach 1 they should be 14x7" if memory serves me correctly. 351 Cleveland 4 barrel was a common engine option in 70" to bad it's not a factory 4 speed car. the Cleveland 4 barrel was kinda "punky" on low end torque but they run pretty good upstairs. It will be a nice car when restored get you're check book ready it will be $40-$45K to go back to a decent driver status.
@CalebsClassicCars

The originals are the ones on the car. Ones in the trunk are not for a 70 mark one Mustang. Also it's not just a 351. It is a 351 Cleveland not Windsor. The Cleveland is a big block. I know about the body because I was a body and paint man for over 35 years. I did everything from frame to the body to the paint. I used to be PPG certified and I-car certified. I was certified on chief easy line frame machine. But I'm retired now and just work on my own stuff. I have a 72 Chevy pick up with a rebuilt 350 motor. Rebuilt front end. Break from boster to pads have been replaced new. New radiator and radiator core. New wiring harness under the hood and under the dash from brothers. Rally sport wheels and centers. Most of the hard stuff has been done. Now it just needs body work and paint and a few odds and ends. Truck will crank and transmission will backup and pull forward. New EdelBrock 4 barrel New disturbander and stainless steel headers. Is this something you would like to trade for. I like the mark one.

@@CalebsClassicCars OK I never know if I don't ask. You got a pretty car or at least it will be when you are done. That 351 Cleveland that you have in it is one h*** of a motor. I had a 71 mark 1 Mustang with the same motor. There was nothing in this town that could touch that car.

You got the Right wheels, with beauty rings and Corporate dog dish hubcap Not original radio (small Cassette decks came out later) when redoing gauges, ty to find a good quality 5VDC regulator, as all the EOMs that I found lasted days. try to restore the door panels black part as they are in the $700 Plus US each, but also salvage the wood insert as they are hard to find and pricy carpet for door panel next to impossible to find, but a rplacement carpet for fold down seat can be cut to fit and is good pricing If you change the windshield, Coupes and convertible are the same, while fastback have different shape so get proper one. same idea if you need to order windshield and side rain rail chrome trims, fastback is specific the inside door cups if missing have a few versions available, but get the right ones, otherwise the mounting hardware hard to find 69 and 70 gas tanks have different capacity, 70 being more capacity and therefore sticking up higher in the trunk, Gas sending unit also specific to 70 make sure that you have the proper pass side mirror has pedestals varies greatly for each Ford cars, but housings are all same. try to restore the rocker panel trims, replacements not good quality IMO although 69 and 70 Mustang look like they have a lot in common, the steering parts are not interchangeable, 67 68 and 69 are same, but 70 is specific from center link right up and including Spindles, rotors, wheel bearing and so on. Do Not, repeat do not through away the steering column ignition switch, not reproduced for 70s. If you need to replace, they are available but you need to splice your own pig tail, so again do not through away the old one. I restored a 69 and a 70 in the past 20 years and still have and maintained both

@@ItsWhateverKnifeandGun Generally those towers came stock on Boss 302, Cougar eliminators, some big blocks. Mine was an M-code 351c (didn't have it), waited a LONG time before a decent pair of these became available to upgrade (and that was back in the' 90s) It's a well known weak spot. They tend to crack, when you start throwing horsepower at it, stiffening the suspension and wingin' it into corners. Good luck on your build. Find out what you got, might be some rare unicorn worth putting back stock.
