I had this car back in 2005 bought it as a first car for 800 dollars back in California. I want to get one of these again. It was awesome cruising around L.A in it.

This, this is the one. I drive a 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue. The car isn't very special, but something got me thinking about how nice Oldsmobiles are to me. I mean, they are some of the NICEST cars I've ever seen. My 98 Olds isn't doing so well anymore. It's a nice car, but I would very much love to get myself a 70 Cutlass Supreme someday. Thanks for the video showcasing the car.

My 1970 Cutlass SX, Hurst shifter, plain metal hood, (not the fiberglass with forward scoops, no AC, mine had weak front springing, which I replaced-powerful and reliable. The car was rear-ended in 1977 and the insurance totaled it. Sad day.

My grandpa bought.. brand new 1970 cutlass supreme sx. I thought they just called it a rocket. Like a nickname. I distinctly remember my grandma who is 4'-9" driving home from St. Vincent De paul's church in phoenix ARIZONA 💯. . It had a blackish rag and grey body. Baddest ride I've ever been in. Dare me to find a pic. I will

Glad you like it my friend, that was a pretty nice one. One interesting fact about the 455's...the 400 hp W-34 motor, the 390 hp W-33, and base 365 hp 442 motor were actually all the same. They had the same heads, compression, camshaft...everything. The 455 in the Olds Toronado was rated at 375 HP, but it actually was based on the regular passenger car engine and makes less horsepower than the base 455 in the Cutlass in this video, that was rated at 365 HP. So, you really can't go by the horsepower ratings at the time. Regardless, they were all pretty strong runners.

Beautiful car. I do not recall the SX, just the 442 as the performance option. I would swap the hood for the correct one, but it is a sweet car. As far as the color, as long as it is the factory color, all is well. Nice.

Beige or not I would own and drive it with pride. Drive-line matches my 1970 442 so I know it will haul buns.

right one ! I owned a olds custom cruiser station wagon when I was 18 with the 455 rocket motor, at red lights rich kids with daddys gto's , chevelles would snicker at the big boat of a car i was in id tack it up a bit give them that nod n the race was on to the next light which i always dusted them every single time in that wagon, they would ask at the next light what I had under the hood, ahh just a 350, you could watch their sad look just take the life n joy out of them thinking they ruled the streets n just got defeted by what looked like a piece of crap, it did the job, plenty of traction being a station wagon, and i got the car for free after a older guy gave it to me after i helped him hang some dry wall in a house he was putting renovated, I will buy a olds muscle car with a 455 motor soon, i miss that motor so much !

Id love to find a 89 or up to 71 olds with a 455 rocket motor in great shape since I now have room in my new garagae, I owned a olds custom cruiser wagon in the 80's with that 455 rocket motor, car had lots of traction being a wagon, and ran off n left every car that wanted to race from one light to another, guys with nice fancy hotrods would then ask whats under the hood, i would smile and say a 350 olds engine lol, just to watch their face expression melt hhahaha

what did the SX stand for on this model Im familiar with most other olds of that time frame just not the SX yet, but its a great looking n fast im sure muscle/luxury car or is it just considered a muscle car? or considered a luxury car?
