DEF a 71. My Dad had a 71 Fury 3. The 360 wasn't really quite enough. But with 340 wedge heads, mid headers, holley med riser, intake with long runners, and a 650 Hollry dbl pumper 4bbl carb with electronic distributer, higher volume fuel pump and filter, plus an old school airbox, the 360 V8 went along quite well. Dad never raced it. Older brother still has this car in a climate controlled garage with 31k showing on the original odometer. And ZERO rust, plus original condition,, save for the tires and engine mods. This is a great car.

It's a 71 not a 70. I owned a 70. Taillights are a dead giveaway.

My mom had a '71 Fury III 4dr sedan, base except for A/C, A/T, 360, and AM radio.

FYI the front parking lamps are worth quit a bit. If not cracked. I sold a pair a couple years ago for $250 & I’ve seen them sell for $800. Why ? Same ones the Superbird uses. The power Disc brakes bring $400 & up. Notice I said Power Disc not Disc. As for the starter. There’s nothing wrong with the Mopar gear reduction starters. The problem is if the car sits for decades there’s lite corrosion build up on the windings. No big deal usually but knuckleheads throw in a hot battery & don’t bother to clean the terminals or grounds. Don’t bother to replace the bad wires & this leads to the starter struggling to get the amps it needs & was designed for & gets hot & fails. And then it gets the blame. Kinda like trying to drive on a tire with no or little air & blaming Goodyear. As for the trunk. Yea I wouldn’t drill it out either. The owner obviously cares for the car & has taken such good care of it & lost the keys. Good quality trunk pans are extremely difficult to find for these cars. 65-74. I’ve been fortunate & sourced two good ones used but Chrysler used 200 or more spotwelds so it’s a PITA to remove it. This is a great parts car. I could easily make $2500 in parts off this car. Popular sites for these C body cars are C body Source on Facebook & a fourm called For C bodies only or FCBO. Lots of knowledgeable people on those two sites & the parts will sell quick.

One of my neighbors in Douglaston had a 2 door '67 Fury 2 with a 318. It was incredibly loud due to the lack of a muffler. I guess it sounded more like a 426 Hemi. He was an old buzzard.
