How to stand out from the crowed with reliability and comfort. British cars had an evil reputation so why not keep the best, like the style and fix the rest. For More Information: www.ebay.com/itm/131351698351?...

Bill, you're my kind of guy. Build it, drive it. Some people think a trip to the local cruise night is a road trip. You know what it really is. In the mid seventies I was in my early twenties and owned a couple of TR-6's. First one was a '70 that I drove to New Orleans and the second one was a '73 that I drove to Dallas Texas. Both trips started from my home in New Jersey and those TR's were my daily drivers. Oh how I would love to have bought this one you built but as you can see, I'm a little late. Hope you are well and still trippin !!!

I’ve owned a 1953 MGTD ,1955 MGTF1500 , 1964 AustinHealey Sprite , and a 1979 MGB that I owned for 14 years and originally was my daily driver I’ve always wanted a older TR6 and I must say. This one featured is one of the nicest ones I’ve seen all the upgrades are tastefully done and Professionally Executed one of which are my favorites are the Power Windows and the upgraded seats I also like original Smith gauges on my British vehicles I do also want to do a V8 conversion on a MGB. At some point

wow this car sold for over $35k, I'm sure the car was worth that much because it's probably about the closest anyone could get to building the perfect car, I'm just amazed that someone was able to look past it being a Triumph TR6 and actually recognized how great the car really was....

The Triumph Straight 6 is not unreliable with a few modifications and a modern straight 6 would have been much more appropriate.
@JP-dw1fp11 ай бұрын
Very reliable once you put a reliable motor, transmission, rear end, and suspension, and change all the electronics.
@martintaper799711 ай бұрын
@@JP-dw1fp Rubbish, the engine is reliable, the injection needs a modern fuel pump. Nothing wrong with the other aspects. A triumph with a large American V6 lump changes the car from what it is to a Frankenstein's monster. The V6 is a poor design, inherently imbalanced and expensive - shouldn't exist.

Maintain your TR6 properly. They're very reliable. Don't ruin your car. Take a driving class. You can build a TR6 that is basically stock that will take you to the point where your knuckles turn white. Most people don't drive in the 90% tile.

@hanshoogendyk22033 жыл бұрын
@@jeffhildreth9244 how did he "ruin it?" Triumph cars were always badly put together on a budged of nothing, the only plus point is they looked better then the cheaper but also badly (cheaply) build mg's so no way one can ruin this car by replacing cheap components with much better ones!!

I bought a car from this gentleman 10 years ago, a 1978 MGB Roadster, claimed one owner, original mileage, full history. It was really odd when I looked at the car because after looking it over and returning with the cash, Bill seemed to not remember from 5 minutes earlier. To cut a long story short, the car had no history, the engine was not the original and although Bill claimed he maintained the car for the original owner for the previous 15 years there was no cylinder head gasket installed from some prior work. My naivety I suppose, I was annoyed with myself for handing over cash, I should have turned away with Bill's fake memory loss. I still have the car, but it's not the original mileage full history car I was sold. I know Bill is well known in his hometown as the MG and Triumph guy with a wealth of knowledge, but his behaviour was certainly questionable.

1111pyramids1111 this is a bit late but in Britain you can still pick up Triumph spitfires for under £5000, there are some good examples out there, they will mostly always appreciate in value especially in the states, you can kit them out to change from right hand drive to left, the MG BGT is another similar looking car for similar prices, I have had both and to this day I regret selling them, I sold my MG in a fit of temper when it blew the head gasket the morning before I set off for my holiday, I did it 200 miles away leaving my father to sort out the details, a few hours later I regretted it, act in haste, repent at leisure, never a truer word said, anyway, good luck looking for a great British sports car, there are many fine marques out there.
